In fact, it is the second most popular paint color on Sherwin Williams’ list of most popular paint colors, indicating that it is the second best-selling paint color after compact gray.

Repose Gray is part of the Sherwin Williams Senior Living Cool Foundations Collection, Pottery Barn – Fall/Winter 2020 Collection and Dreamer Collections. I’m actually surprised that Repose Gray isn’t featured in Sherwin Williams collections due to its popularity and versatility.
I’m a little late with this program, but I have to say, I love Repose Grey.
I recently painted my newly finished laundry room this color and it is beautiful. It has enough depth to make a statement, but not so much that it overwhelms you.
Repose Gray is currently one of the most popular greige colors. This means that it has shades of beige and gray.
The Best Sherwin Williams Gray Paint Colors In 2021
Repose Gray leans more toward gray than beige and can often appear gray without cooler or more “true” grays in the room.
In addition, Repose Gray has very light purple and some soft blue undertones. These blue undertones make it look a bit cooler than some greige paints.
If you’re concerned about this, remember that Repose Gray shows its blue undertones more in a north-facing room, as this cooler light will accentuate any cooler tones in the paint colors.
Overall, Repose Gray is a warm gray because of its brown undertones, but reads a little cooler on the scale than some because of its blue undertones.
Neutral Paint Colors
This means it falls under the “light” color category, even though it weighs more than some mid-tone light colors.
A little dark enough to be considered light and airy, but not so dark that your room seems much smaller.
This makes it work in small or large rooms where the sun is directed to the north and south.
Repose Gray is the perfect paint color for any room in your home. It works just as well in formal living rooms as it does in children’s playrooms. It is good in bedrooms and kitchens. It even gives an elegant look to dining rooms and bathrooms.

Sherwin Williams Repose Gray is a great anchor paint color for a home. By that I mean it’s a good color for all of your main living areas such as entryways, hallways, living rooms, dining rooms and family rooms.
Urbane Bronze is Sherwin Williams Color of the Year 2021. It would be great as a floor and dark and accent wall, furniture or bold finish option.
Finally, Pure White is the perfect white paint color to complement Repose Gray. It works well on edges, buildings and walls.
The paving is a medium black earthy greige shade with a preference for brown. This paint color works well as an accent wall or as a wall color in an adjoining room where you want to create a dramatic look.
Sherwin Williams Repose Gray (in Real Homes!)
Coral Clay is a bright pink shade that would be perfect for an accent wall or piece of furniture.
Eider white is a great gray for adjoining rooms (but be careful – it can sometimes show a few purple undertones!).
Navy, Sherwin Williams’ Color of the Year 2020, is a very dark navy blue paint color that is perfect for an accent wall, interior or furniture.
Mint condition is light mint green and would be great in closets or next door.
The 3 Best Gray Paint Colours
As I do in most of my color posts, I compare Repose Gray to a few other very popular greige paints. This can be helpful in determining which paint color is right for your home.
As I mentioned earlier, Agreeable Gray is Sherwin Williams’ most popular paint color. This is another greige paint color with many similarities to Repose Gray but some key differences.
Repose Gray and Agreeable Gray have very similar LRVs. As a result, they reflect almost the same amount of light into space.
While both are gray paint colors with strong beige undertones, Repose Gray has purple and blue undertones, while Agreeable Gray has green undertones.
Repose Gray: A Complete Paint Color Review
Repose Gray also has more weight than Agreeable Grey. It will be impressive on your walls and make a bit more of a statement than Agreeable Grey. Overall, Cytun Gray appears lighter than Repose Gray.
I always think of Agreeable Gray as something reminiscent of an art gallery wall – it makes a great backdrop for other things. Conversely, Repose Gray is a more understated offering (but in a good way!).
Revere Pewter is Benjamin Moore’s most popular greige paint (and possibly the most popular color!). Although it is a greige like Repose Grey, it leans more towards beige than grey.
In addition, Revere Pewter has a green tint. To me it looks like Revere Pewter on the ground where Repose Gray is more of a clean gray look.
Repose Gray Sw7015
Mindful Gray is another very popular greige color from Sherwin Williams. It sits directly below Repose Gray in the color bar, which is why some say it’s a darker version of Repose Gray.
However, if you look closely, it’s not hard to see that this isn’t the case. Repose Gray has purple and blue undertones, while Mindful Gray has a lot of green undertones.
Mindful Gray has an LRV of 48, while Repose Gray has an LRV of 58. That’s a 10-point difference because Mindful Gray reflects less light and is heavier on your walls.
Finally, while Repose Gray is a good overall color for the home, Mindful Gray works best in certain rooms with high ceilings or lots of natural light.

Hello, I need to paint my bedroom wall, the furniture will be storm gray (dark) wood. The wall in the master bathroom is Stonington gray. This is a northeast facing bedroom with low light. I like the tone but want the warmth. My 3 choices are gray owl -bm, calm gray gray or pleasant gray gray. I wanted the room to flow because I had a brown/brown bedroom for over 15 years and changed it. I leaned towards the gray owl, but then thought I had to play it safe with the beautiful gray, but the rest was not too bad. I illuminate the bed with white. Thanks if you can point me in the right direction.
Hi Kristina! It’s hard to do without seeing this space. I suggest you join my Facebook group and post a photo of your space so we can help you figure out which shade will work for you. It’s hard to know which furniture will be the best before you see it. My guess is Gray Owl or Repose Gray, but that’s just a guess. Sorry I can’t help more!
