We’ve been living in our new home since the summer of 2017, but I haven’t shared many of the “finished” room-by-room spaces here on the blog.

I use the word “finished” loosely because, to be honest, my house will never be finished for me. It will forever remain a work in progress. He could

My latest kitchen project – painting the kitchen cabinets! Benjamin Moore offers a paint color that will make your room shine – Revere Pewter!

Of all the colors I used to paint the kitchen cabinets, this is the one that my husband and I both agreed on. We knew this would give our kitchen the warm, modern update we were looking for!

BM Revere Pewter (HC-172) is a deep gray with undertones that work well with the style we want.

A Bm Revere Pewter Alternative

Revere Pewter has an LRV of 55.51. LRV is the light reflectance value, which tells you how much natural light your paint absorbs and reflects back into the room.

Generally, higher values are better if you want to use less light in an area or need privacy (ie a bathroom). Low LRV colors allow more light to enter the room and make it brighter.

Revere Pewter has a higher LRV than many other neutrals, making it perfect for areas like kitchens! We wanted our kitchen cabinets painted in a way that wouldn’t let in too much natural light – we wanted a light, airy look.

Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter Review & Inspiration Ring’s End

Previous Post: « The best primer for oak cabinets + Why you should play (Don’t miss this!) We have been stuck in the house for the last few days because of the rain, so we made some repairs by doing a painting job. Closet and bathroom just removed. Here’s a picture of how we ended up with the room, complete with a pattern on the floor and what we’re discussing now – Benjamin Moore’s Revere Pewter on the walls. But let’s look at it for a moment. First by painting the lotion panel white (we chose Simply White in semi-gloss, just like the panel in the rest of the house).

Part of me hates to trivialize the time it took to do this work by only sharing a before and after picture that obscures the process. It only took one coat of primer and two coats of paint (both coated) and Sherry and I jumped into action. I checked because this is a non VOC as part of the paint and when this finish dried we went around the full room doors and small parts of the baseboard with the paint.

Then came the carving as part of the mural painting process and the carving looked like child’s play. Many angles.

I’m not one to talk about painting (except for painting the ceiling), but painting the walls is usually the “fun” for us. I think if you go into a project thinking “this will be quick and easy” it’s a slippery slope. However, it was one of those little places that made us feel crazy and “let’s just beat this in an hour or 2” and we ended up shooting several two-hour installments over a couple of days.

Of The Best Greige Paint Colors — Tag & Tibby Design

The color we chose was Revere Pewter, seen on Pinterest as a light to medium color that many people like. Our brains also refuse to recognize it as “Revere Pewter,” so we can’t stop calling it “Reverie Pewter”—even when the guy at the paint desk is like, “Oh, so you mean Revere.”

You may remember that we did this “Surfing Ahead” post with some basic thoughts on paint colors after we went in. For our bathroom and closet, we wanted something simple (no windows in both areas), but not too bright, wash things like white, white glass, and also white shelves inside. the cabinet.

We chased the Pismo Dunes and Gray Owl (both pods), but he ended up enjoying the Revere Pewter Multicolor, which is a mix of the two. It almost looks like a darker tone of Edgecomb Gray (lower than Pismo Dunes and a bit richer and less gray than Gray Owl).

We really liked how dry it was. Taupe-y in some lights (like this shot). Gray and some people (like the one below). It changes throughout the day and works well with the deep blue-grey (pepper) in our bedroom.

Revere Pewter Coordinating Paint Colors

Oh, and we decided to paint the ceiling the same color as the walls here. We’ve learned that in small spaces it actually makes the room look smaller if the ceiling and walls are the same (assuming the color isn’t too dark) because it just makes the corner/cramp/narrow space feels and packed inside

And like the other rooms we painted, when all the paint is dry, I used this as an opportunity to change all the modifiers and settings of the old various creams to clean up the whites. This picture is a little dark (hello black hole closet) because I was weak, but it really shows how the wall color chameleons in different light conditions.

Even with the lights, the dark wall color will be a nice background to show off the shape of the mirror (and the rest of the trim we painted will be good too). We have a lot more stuff to look at here, but here’s a side-by-side comparison from when we started (well, after the carpet was pulled up) to where we are now.

With all the walls painted, we can now do the ropes and the floor (I don’t think I’m using the right color), this is the part we enjoy the most, because it’s not so attractive now. All signs indicate that the floor will be done before we finish the outside.

Oh, and as we predicted in this post about our vanity plans (where you can also read why we’re not painting this floor, how we might want to add shelves to the vanity for balance, etc.) I’ve been thinking about it again .

After some sifting, we worried that painting the vanity navy blue wouldn’t work too well with the yellow sink top and we thought we’d enjoy the whole floor more than going monochromatic with it…

So today we are thinking about a two-tone pattern on the floor and one
