Sherwin Williams Woodscapes Solid Stain Colors – City Wide Fence uses Sherwin Williams Superdeck water-based solid stain, which provides long-lasting protection and opacity. The Icon’s distinctive color incorporates infrared reflective technology that reflects harmful ultraviolet rays back into the atmosphere. This helps lower the temperature of the deck so they feel cooler underfoot than a normal dark color. Popular paints for this are deck and dock stains that offer a high level of water resistance and protection from damaged wood.
Actual colors may vary. This is because each computer monitor has a different ability to display colors and different people see these colors. We try to match our images to show the model as realistically as possible, but please understand that the actual color may differ from your monitor. We cannot guarantee that the color you see will accurately reflect the actual color of the product.

Hello friends! Thank you all so much for the great love in renovating the interior. The response has been overwhelming and we are really enjoying our new space… well, before this brutal and disrespectful wave of summer hits our area and the temps have been hovering at 106 for weeks. Yes, it shouldn’t be. Needless to say, I can’t wait to move on so we can go back and spend more time outdoors. As hot as it has been lately, we really started to feel the heat before the outdoor space was emptied during one of the biggest projects of a complete renovation: the deck. Luckily, I finished it before the actual arsonists arrived. Today I will share the process of how I came up with this project.
My main goal for my outdoor space is for it to feel like an extension of our home’s interior. I want to blur the line between indoors and outdoors and know that deck tinting is a big factor in contributing to the end result. As beautiful as natural redwood is, I don’t want it to look like ordinary wood. I love the warmth of the wood floor color inside our home and was hoping to replicate it outside.
All About Exterior Stain
Because we used redwood, we had to wait several months after construction before applying a stain or top coat. This allows the wood and oil to dry well to better accept the stain and provide better color. Construction was completed in February and we let it dry for 5 months before painting in July. If you’re working with wood like pine or Douglas fir, you won’t have to wait long to paint. Once I came up with a game plan to tackle the project, I placed an order to pick up the curb for the stain and hardware from Sherwin-Williams.
I used a variety of brushes, rollers, metal trays, spray pumps, and Sherwin-Williams Superdeck Cleaner and Stain to complete the project.
As with any painting project, the best results start with a clean, well-prepared surface. I took everything off the deck and started sweeping it. Then I gave him a good massage. To clean and wash the deck, I used SuperDeck Revive Deck and Siding Brightener. This formula is specifically designed for use on fresh or uncarved cedar, redwood or hardwood.
I enlisted the help of this part of the project because you want to make sure you don’t let the product dry on the wood during application. Naomi and I worked on a small section, burning the area and applying Superdeck Revive with a pump sprayer.
Choosing A Stain Color Is Tricky
After application, he used a poly bristle brush to wash the area. Let sit for about 10 minutes and rinse with a high-pressure hose.
It all happened very quickly. After cleaning the entire interior, we let it dry overnight. The next morning, the tree looks new, refreshed and alive again…new again!
After washing the deck and preparing it for staining, I went over it again with the broom and applied it to the house where the deck meets the paint to protect the exterior.
It’s time to get dirty. I chose Superdeck Exterior Water Based Formula in Semi-Solid Color Stain. When choosing a deck stain, you’ll want to consider maintenance and how often you’ll need to reapply it. A good rule of thumb is the darker or more opacity the transparency, the less maintenance. Clearcoats and semi-transparent stains require frequent maintenance and reapplication, as semi-solid or hard stains may last longer before reapplication. SuperDeck is great because it can be applied to wet wood.
Sherwin Williams Super Deck Water Based Stain Reviews: Is It Any Good?
SuperDeck Stain comes in many color options and I chose Chestnut SW 3524. I wanted a deep chestnut and this color was perfect for me when I tried the color two months ago. I saw a small area once
Listen guys… your girl was scared to do her first brush stroke. Really scared. We’ve been saving up for a long time to build a deck and I want to destroy it. It was a project that really pushed me to believe in my vision and trust the process. I started rolling over the stain with a nap roller. I gently rolled the 6 inch brush to soften the brush. Always apply in the direction of the grain.
There was a bit of a learning curve when working with the stain because it didn’t look like any stain I had used before. After letting it sit on the wood for a few minutes you paint it without removing the paint and rub/brush the product on. It took me a while to figure it out, but once I got it working pretty well. I was working against the heat, so I had to move really fast. After the first day I realized that I preferred to apply the stain with a brush, so I pulled out some of my workhorse brushes (Purdy is my fave!) and used them for the duration of the project.
Guys, next time I have a crazy idea to mess up the deck again, save me from myself! When I told you, it took forever!!! I didn’t realize how big the deck was until I saw it painted. the hand Office to office. It was huge and lasted longer than I expected from its size. They could not work shorter hours in the mornings and evenings when the temperature outside was below 90 degrees. I suggest you do the deck painting project in the fall or spring when the weather isn’t too hot or too cold… rain is definitely not in the forecast. And don’t even get me started on brushing between each one. only the office
Carol’s Lake Cottage Gets An Update
It took me two days, but I finished the first dress. However, I really want to take my time so that I can get the best result. Little by little I saw visions meeting.
The great thing about SuperDeck’s water-based stain formula is that it allows for quick drying and fast application times. You can apply an additional coat after 4 hours and with a semi-solid finish you’ll want to apply two thin coats for best results. This product is available depending on the size of your project
