As you may know if you follow this series, I love Joanna Gane’s style. Everything about it is perfection. It is domestic, but modern and functional. One day when we are done with all the renovations, I hope our house will shine Joanna Gaines…it will take some time to be sure.
As you may know, we are still working on the basement renovation to complete our nursery. We will finish everything on time and I can’t wait! It would be so nice to have a little extra space to use in our home. I am most excited about the return of our clay house. A place to hang our winter coats outside our wardrobe… small room problem!
Since Dylan (my husband) has been at work…I’ve been painting in the children’s room. I have so many plans for preschool and can’t wait for the day I can share my discovery here on the blog!

Love how unique this bathroom is. A far cry from the simple cookie cutter bathroom we see in most homes today. I would like to get an antique for a sink in one of our bathrooms. I think we will definitely figure it out for our last home. Does anyone have experience installing an antique dresser or dresser as a bathroom cabinet with a sink?

If you’ve watched even a few episodes of ‘Ficker Upper’ — and let’s be honest, we’ve all seen more than one couple — you can probably name a few style choices Chip and Joanna have made. There’s also a walk-in closet, as well as subway tile, sliding barn doors and farmhouse sinks. But something else unites the finished designs on screen: the color palette.
Joanna sticks to some tried and true colors that let her rustic chic style shine. She is neutral using neutrals, grays and blues, colors she uses in every design for stylish furniture and accessories. Read on for some of our favorite colors inspired by the fixer upper.

Large floor-to-ceiling mirrors help create the illusion of space in this small master bedroom. The room features a custom-made headboard and floating shelves, as seen on the attached ceiling.
When Joanna decides to go beyond a neutral space, it’s usually with a rich navy blue that looks great in a master bedroom or kitchen cabinets.
Chip and Joanna Gaines decorated this master bath with fresh gray paint and an accent wall in upper brackets. A large mirror is framed in wood that matches the accent wall, and modern lighting illuminates the marble-topped double vanity and rectangular sink. The original claw foot tub has been preserved and finished and the new floor tiled.
If a pale gray just doesn’t cut it, a deeper gray will do the trick. It adds just the right amount of mood and looks great when paired with a raw wood bowl.

All 25 shades will be offered in matte (which can be amazing!), eggshell, or satin. Paint colors on cabinets and furniture will be limited to True White or Shiplap. It looks like the cabinets and furniture paint will come in a semi-gloss finish. I like the logo design which is almost ‘tape ticking’, black on white and white on black. So classic!

Fixer Upper Welcome Home Paint Colors By Joanna Gaines
I found information on the KILZ website that Magnolia Market furniture retailers will also be able to carry it. I’m sure it was available in big box stores, I’d love to try it. I’ve always been a KILZ user and some of Joanna’s shades are really interesting. I can’t mail order paint though. I appreciate that they’re probably trying to do some quality/brand control and probably aren’t going through too many growing pains.
That’s it! I just stopped by for a quick “did you know” because I thought it was pretty cool and wanted to share it with you.
We’ve been busy getting our property back in shape after a long, wet winter and spring. It definitely needs some work and there is more! The guys are busy installing electricity in the new workshop. I hope to be back this week with workshop updates for you. We’ve also been busy with the same old things I’m sure you all do…like work, washing the car, running errands…and everyone’s favorite, never ending laundry.
