5. I recommend using 1/2-5/8 and x 4 ft x 8 ft sheet as it is the easiest and best option. A 4×8 composite siding sheet that comes with an industrial primer will save you less money and less time. Composite siding is more colorful than real wood and is based on plywood or OSB and covered with tiles. It comes in different sizes and thickness depending on your budget. If you can afford it, the top of the line is called “Duratemp”. It is 1/2-5/8 inch plywood covered with a hardwood composite veneer. It provides the best of both worlds, strength and durability. Smart Panel also offers 1/2- to 5/8-inch-thick OSB sheathing and hard-wearing hardboard composites. Traditional composite siding will give you a long life when properly maintained. Most of them are 20 or 25 years old, but this is a good choice for a budget. The only downside is that it is not available in places with high humidity like Florida and Hawaii.

6. The wall is usually nailed with 2 × 10 headers up to 16 feet wide and not too large (gable end). If they are on a load-bearing wall (not the end of the roof), they may need to be replaced. Check in the home section. If you buy the title, the engineering documents will be part of the price.

8. Mark the back of the top of the middle door with a 2 x 6 that will allow the door to open properly and the top of the tractor door.

9. A 7-foot-high door requires 1 foot clearance from the top to accommodate the track. If you need a tall door opening, you want to build a garage with long side walls. If you want to install an electrical outlet, you will need a frame for the motor.

10. Use sandwiched 2×4 headers to create openings up to 36 inches wide. For openings larger than 36 inches, use sandwiched 2 × 6 headers.

11. 36-inch pre-hung stainless steel lid. Make sure the preset is set for two lock settings.

13. Trusses are often manufactured by a factory company with engineering equipment. Actually, they are 24 inches on center. You will have 2 gable supports and other common trusses. Don’t forget to size the gable end opening.

14. Wind ties (or h2.5) connect the trusses to the upper plates. They act separately. Install one at the end of each truss.

16. 1/2-inch OSB is a cheaper option than plywood. But you can use plywood around the painted area underneath because plywood holds the paint well. OSB boards crack and peel over time. This number is based on the shortest path and does not include spaces. There will be 10-20% leftover depending on how you cut it. So buy a small piece of paper.

17. I suggest you pull off the composite siding. Buy strong, non-porous paper as much as possible to reduce waste. And it does not cut only gutters on ordinary siding. It does not have a slide cover without common grooves. You can always use curved siding, but then you have no control over where the cut holes are. Otherwise, you’ll end up with a lot of waste if you try to arrange the cut around the grooves in the overall slide. Stainless steel does not have to blend perfectly with the main siding. It is important to match the text so that it looks good when painted. If necessary, you can buy one type of grooved cap and another type of non-grooved cap. Alternatively, you can buy well-made but expensive cutting boards. As a last resort, you can use real wood for cutting. But I can argue against that because real wood takes a lot of time and effort and it doesn’t give you a beautiful product like composite decking.

19. Building codes may dictate the weight and number of sheets depending on the slope of the roof and the climate in your area. A roll of 30# felt covers 100 square feet. This figure is based on the size of the part and does not take into account shrinkage and waste.

20. I recommend using 30 year old architectural tiles and the best you can buy. Here, a small investment in quality pays off in long life and low maintenance. This number is based on the shortest path and does not include spaces. You’ll need a few more No. 3 boards that match the original surface and are cut for the mountain cap.

22. Ask the home improvement store about their plans and what deposits you need.
