MY18 to decide between x6m50d or x5M. I have vin numbers but need a decoder. Can someone show me where to find a good bmw vin decoder?
Vin Decoder For Keyless Entry
The vin decoder above will not tell you all the Option Codes. I tested 14 cars and compared it to what I got from one of the dealers. Some codes are not available in the vin decoder above.

There is another one… but you may see the same thing. I’m sure there are some things you think you need, but are not listed because one of your options has some options… or is the set of options listed means you have it. are not listed. (I hope it makes sense).
Unfortunately some of the purchase guide PDFs are no longer available … ..those that created an option code all, you can see the option codes.
Here’s another VIN code decryption site … as provided … you need to use ALL 17 digits of your VIN (rather than just the 7 digits about end)… you usually have to answer a CAPTCHA puzzle. or query: www.mdecoder.com
FYI: also be aware that there may be ads on the website asking for a VIN number… If you type or copy the VIN into these search fields… you will be charged for the information, etc. They use the VIN range belonging to the mdekoder site… they don’t advertise.

I was wondering what option codes you found missing. Does it matter if the decoder doesn’t show “316” every time F85 is entered (not sure if it is for example…)? F85 doesn’t have many options, and the codec above tells you the important ones:
You can choose it as driver support package or administrator package. All options under “Options” are displayed. While shopping for the e92m3 (before I decided to buy the F85) I made an Excel spreadsheet and now it’s helping my friend find the F95M5. To remove formatting, paste these bimmer.work results into notepad and then paste into Excel; conditional formatting options will be highlighted. You will definitely want to do something like this because you will be flying off the text list until you find it in the car. The dashboard screenshot of the F95M5 doesn’t list the ZX1 decoders, but you can bet the car has the Management Package which comes with Active Park Cruise Control.
Insert front bumper: this is chrome silver, but the decoder still says black. Peripheral view: wrong code emitted by the decoder.

Many decoders display incorrect information. I often do VIN checks on free services, but in my experience free programs don’t help when buying a used car. Firstly, the reports they prepare are very weak in terms of content and secondly, the information they contain does not always correspond to reality.
The mdecoder works perfectly and has been using it for years. Now I think you have to pay a small fee to use it.
If you are charged… you are probably typing your VIN into one of the SPAM fields that is going to do just that… to charge you.
When using mdecoder.com or bimmer.work … be sure to use real fields created by the site, not ad SPAM fields that are displayed and sometimes take up empty space.

Below is an example of a SPAM ad asking for a VIN from mdecoder.com … Do not use the SPAM field … but use the real VIN field, which is free on the website:
I have noticed this problem since Friday as well. None of the decoders are working. I tried VIN Lookup again on vinpit.com today and the VINS I looked at earlier show no issues and are completely free. Other sites have a “we are experiencing technical issues” message. I wonder what’s going on, maybe BMW stopped them from letting him use the facility?
Be sure to skim the page a bit and click the blue “decode” button. If you click on the ad right below the VIN input box, it will take you elsewhere. Greetings A vehicle identification number (VIN) is a 17-digit combination of letters and numbers. The VIN is stamped on a metal plate screwed to the instrument panel, on the upper left side of the dash. The VIN number is also found on the vehicle certificate (VC) label.
The last six VIN digits are the alphanumeric code for the vehicle’s build order. This is also the car’s serial number and warranty.

A vehicle certification (VC) label includes the manufacturer’s name, month and year of manufacture, certification statement, and VIN. It also includes gross vehicle weight ratings (GVWR).
The first set of letters/numbers listed represents the vehicle’s base color code. The second set of letters/numbers listed (if any) indicates a two-tone or accent body color code.
NOTE: Powertrain calibration information is limited to a maximum of five characters per line on the vehicle certification label. Therefore, a calibration identification of more than five characters will be pasted in the second line of the VC label.
Powertrain calibration information is printed in the lower right corner of the vehicle’s certification label. Only basic calibration information is printed. Inspection rates will not appear, but can be found in the Online Vehicle Service Information System (OASIS). For the current model year, Ford Motor Company uses three different protocols that describe the basic calibration of the drivetrain. These protocols are designed to provide global standardization for instrument calibration. Protocol 1 will be used if the electronic calibration strategy has been used since 1998 and is transferred to the current model year. See Protocol 1 below. If the electronic calibration strategy has been used since 1999 and transferred to the current model year, Protocol 2 will be used. See Protocol 2 below. Use Protocol 3 for new electronic calibration strategies for the current model year. See Protocol 3 below.

The only thing I can make out from the sticker on the front axle is 4 3 0. I think the axle ratio might be the correct one since I was going 55- 60 at 2Krpm with the stock wheels/tires.
The axle code is not listed on the door tag and the only thing that mentions Excursion and 4:30 is that I have an LS…yuck.
Also, what’s wrong with spring code? It says “CG” but the same reference in the listing above says “C – Suffix CA, F-Series / Tour” for the front but nothing for the back “G”… Nope I’m not sure how. read this?

Arrow: ?? The door tag won’t help you here, I don’t know why but some trucks couldn’t get the axle code. Go under and remove the Axle code from the metal sticker on the differentials.
I’ve seen him do this and the 4.30 gear is awesome. You may not like the LS, but the ratio is hard to find.
I wonder why the area code. The truck was assembled in KY but the door code says Atlanta, why is that?
When I looked for mine I’m not sure it was just a ticked list, I guess it was gone when I ordered it. Through a reseller in KY and the Atlanta area? But again, that’s just possible.

SAE “WMI” for Fiat (ZFA) seems to be used instead of JC1 for Abarths sent to Italy for the rest of the assembly:

…when did Abarths stop specifying the NE platform? I’m pretty sure I remember readers reporting back in the fall of 2016.
