Rust-Oleum comes in many shades of gold. I can’t tell the difference between the two colors, the rust oleum in green and white as pictured above.
Krylons and Valspars are gold, not yellow gold. Krylon is a reddish gold color. Valspar is like a bronze color, maybe a golden bronze I think?
Spray Paint Mason Jars
For anyone with an antique bronze/brass/gold look, Valspar gold is right up your alley. I love the Krylon gold color, it’s not yellow. I think it is “upgraded” gold.
Rust-Oleum is the chicken dinner for me as the “best” gold paint. I chose because they are yellow gold colors. Good coverage too, they all have coverage too. I will cover other gold tones below.
I just wanted to mention. When you apply too much metallic paint, it dulls the finish even with a high gloss top coat. Metals do not require a jacket. If you used a shirt… and now it looks like this… spray another coat of your color on the shirt.
Fix light coats as you don’t want your paint to crease/bubble like in the photo below. This usually happens because it is a heavy coat and is “too wet”, so it wears on top of your other coats, causing them to wrinkle.

Gold is also perishable just like jewelry. Any shiny metal finish will tarnish. You’ll see fingerprints, water stains, and more.
Are you painting 15 gold urns for your wedding? Wear gloves to avoid fingerprints etc. during packing and installation. Quickly dries water spots.
The mirror effect is not too different from their golden image in the post. For a “failed” mirror effect, such as Krylon’s Looking Glass or Rust-Oleum’s Mirror Effect Silver. Both are very similar in mirror form.

I dig Metallic Warm Gold, a muted gold with a shimmery sheen. Not a big fan of pure gold, but it might work for you.
Warm gold/pure gold is recommended for items such as headboards or furniture. They don’t fade like shiny metallic gold.

Spray paint comes in a variety of finishes, from matte to glossy, depending on how glossy or matte it is.
All of these spray paints come in different sheens, so be careful when buying one to get the sheen you want.
Neither is right or wrong, but glossier paint shows more dents, scratches, or scuffs than matte gold spray paint.
Gold spray paint is a very solid color (sometimes called brushed gold spray paint), while metallic spray paint has small flecks of almost shimmer.

Metallic paint is great when you paint metal, glass or anything else.

For a shiny look, choose gold spray paint with a shiny sheen. Look for the keyword METALLIC on the label to indicate shine.
I don’t recommend applying a clear coat to gold spray paint to make it look shiny. Clear coats will darken and dull the finish.
