People often ask us to make some sort of design tweak to our small house plan kits – like making the design bigger or smaller. Changes like this aren’t all that difficult, but for new builders it can be intimidating to step outside the script and modify an existing design. And since most of our plans are in PDF format only, these changes require a lot of manual redrawing of the plans or some “trust” as you build them.
How To Deal With A Tiny House Kitchen
But one of our most popular sets of tiny house plans – the Cider Box Tiny House – now also comes with a very useful and editable SketchUp model option! Jake of the Tiny Nest Project is a SketchUp assistant and worked with Shelter Wise, the original designer and builder of the cider box, to create this model that meets the PDF plans. If you really want to start from scratch (or trailer) with your small home design, there are several ways to get started. Morrison of Tiny House Build has an in-depth technical guide to designing a first floor plan for a tiny house that serious designers should consider. I met Jake in part because he worked with our friend Rob at Iron Eagle Trailers to build 3-D modeled versions of each length of the Iron Eagle PAD series trailers – Dee from PAD and Darin from Shelter Wise helped with the design. Jack offers all these SketchUp models on his website

We recommend Jack’s tutorials and patterns because he is very well organized, a great communicator, and works with the same camper base that Cider Box Tiny House, Hikari Box Tiny House and Bunk Box Tiny House do.
