Agreeable Gray Vs. Revere Pewter (why I Changed My Mind)

Revere Pewter has a reflectance of 55.05, meaning it is an intermediate color. Not too dark, not too light.

It is in a large part of the color spectrum and looks good in a room facing west and south. But it’s a beautiful, classic color that can be used anywhere in the home without any problems.

Revere Pewter isn’t just for walls. In fact, it’s used in decor and furniture today and looks great on the White Dove wall in this small space built by Jen Woodhouse.

Favorite Paint Colors

The Revere Pewter walls in the laundry room from @rignellranch are fresh and clean, especially with the white trim. Doing laundry here may not seem like a chore, as it is a beautiful place.

This is another beautiful room with a white dove. Warm woods and rich maroon complement neutral colors well.

The bright white color in this room makes the room fresh and clean. Wood and blue tones complement the color of the walls very well.

Tips And Tricks For Choosing The Perfect Paint Color

Depending on the desired contrast, there are many good trim color choices that will look good on Revere Pewter.

If Revere Pewter is a little too dark for you, another lighter shade is Pale Oak.

This is a solid color palette with light and dark shades of Revere Pewter. All are good choices for a side room, or you can use this palette throughout the house.

Revere Pewter By Benjamin Moore Interior Paint Color Palette

Given its calm nature, Revere Pewter’s color scheme should also have calm tones. I went through all my Benjamin Moore paints in different colors and came up with 2 different color palettes which you can find at the bottom of this post.

Always check the color before you buy. I use and recommend Samplize Peel and Stick Paint Samples because there is nothing wrong with painting two coats of real paint!

Don’t let the name fool you. Mt Rainier Gray is a combination of blue and gray that cools the blue and shows up on large walls. It’s a medium tone (not too light, not too dark) and will look good in any room. LRV 59.48

Slightly cooler than mountain rain gray, feather gray is also an intermediate color. As you can see in the photo below, it looks great on the couch, which is a dark version of Revere Pewter.

Small House Classic Paint Scheme: Gray & White — Balkanina

Blue Zone is a medium teal with gray undertones, keeping it on the cool side of the spectrum. This is a great support or accent for Revere Pewter. The best place to use it would be a bathroom, laundry room, talking furniture or even a drawer as shown below.

Calmness is a blue with a mix of sage and grey. This is a great complementary color to Revere Pewter as an accent wall or in an adjoining room. It has a cool tone and the same depth of color as Revere Pewter. This color can be used in the bedroom, bathroom, laundry room or office.

Edgecomb Gray is the next shade of light Revere Pewter in Benjamin Moore’s color palette. Also known as 972 Alaskan Skies and OC-15 Baby Fawn, this is one of the best selling neutrals every year. It can be the color of the whole house because it is universal.

Natural Cream, also known as 1521 Nature’s Essentials, is about half a tone lighter than Revere Pewter. According to Benjamin Moore, it’s “a nice light gray, but the color scheme is warm and cool.” It always has a lighter shade of yellow than Revere Pewter, but if used in an adjacent room, it will appear brighter.

Our Favorite Paint Colors

The lighting in each room is different, and many times the same color will be different in adjacent rooms. That’s how it is.

Seapearl is an opaque material of a cold gray shade. Also known as Chinese White, this has been a popular Benjamin Moore color for decades. It’s lighter than Edgecomb Gray or Natural Cream, so it’s great for a room that doesn’t get a lot of heat.

Ashley Gray has a shade similar to Revere Pewter, but darker. Also known as Waynesboro Taupe 1544 and Shenandoah Taupe AC-36. But it has the faintest traces of purple tones and some light like Revere Pewter.

Slightly darker than Revere Pewter, it would be great for an accent wall or adjoining room. This elegant room is painted with pashmina. I love the contrast with the white fabric.

The Best Gray Paint Shades By Benjamin Moore

Vapor is a clean, soft white with a warm neutral undertone. It coordinates well with Revere Pewter and is not as strong as other whites.

Silver Satin is a classic white with the same lavender undertone as Revere Pewter. It can be used as a complementary color in Revere Pewter if you want a more subtle contrast of the pure shade.
