And Pleasant Gray is no exception. In fact, Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray is technically a “grey,” that is, it’s a mix of gray and beige, with the beige being more predominant than other “warmer” grays like Repose Gray.
It’s one of those rare unicorn colors whose hues don’t change much throughout the day or the type of light it gets, making it a perfect choice for a whole house color scheme.
In fact, its name is quite apt, as it really is a very beautiful paint color that works just about anywhere.
An agreeable gray has an LRV of 60. LRV, or light reflectance value, indicates how light or dark a color is on a scale of 0 to 100.

The closer the number is to 100, the easier it is (white is easier). The closer the number is to 0, the darker (black) it is.
At 60, it has enough saturation to clarify an agreeable gray (not white!), but it’s light enough that it doesn’t feel heavy.
Agreeable gray has a warm beige tone. Depending on the lighting, it can lean more towards its beige or gray color. It is usually slightly warmer in bright warm light and slightly gray in darker areas in cooler light.
That being said, it is one of the purest forms of grease. If gray is what you’re after, you really can’t go wrong with this color. It does not have purple or green undertones like many other warm grays.

Sherwin William’s agreeable gray works especially well with white, blue, green and neutral color trims. It doesn’t turn blue or green when you use those colors for accents (unlike many gray colors).

How I Create A Home Color Palette + All The Paint Colors In Our Home So Far
Agreeable gray tends to stay true to its gray, one of the purest forms of gray + beige, unlike Revere Pewter, which is quite muddy in places. Agreeable Gray is also a slightly lighter color.
If I had to choose between the two, I’d go with agreeable gray because it doesn’t have the earthy green/beige undertone. It is an incredibly popular ‘neutral’ color for its resale value.
Although Revere Pewter was incredibly popular five years ago, admittedly Gray has overtaken it considerably in recent years, partly due to the desire for lighter, brighter spaces that Revere Pewter doesn’t always achieve.
This is similar to agreeable gray with an LRV of 58 vs. 60, which makes colors darker but has enough saturation to provide contrast near the white edge.
Repose Gray Sherwin Williams Color
Repos Gray is not exactly gray, but more of a warm gray. It’s definitely grayer than the agreeable gray and also has a slight taupe undertone that can bring out a slight hint of pink in certain lights.
From kitchens and dining rooms to bathrooms and bedrooms, agreeable gray blends with existing furniture, fixtures and hardwoods without suddenly appearing foreign hues.
The bright, cool light in this room allows the paint color to have a hint of gray, creating a very fresh and modern look.
