The right combination of warm and cool colors can make a room beautiful. Here are some examples.
Colors are pure colors without added white or black. This means that all primary, secondary and tertiary colors are colors. You get a shade of color by adding white, and you get a shade of color by adding black.
When white is added to the tones, the resulting tones become soft, youthful and soothing. They make a small and compact room feel spacious. They add a peaceful feel to a room and can make it brighter, even with little natural light.
When we add black to the shadows, the resulting shadows are deep, powerful and mysterious. They look vibrant and are perfect for rooms that are spacious and have lots of natural or artificial light, such as restaurants, lounges, retail spaces and even home entertainment areas. But keep in mind that they can look a bit shiny if overused.
Here’s How You Can Give Your Home A Bold Makeover With Awakening
Opposite colors on the color wheel make bold combinations. Here’s how you know you’re dealing with a fat combination.
Sensible combinations are made by combining colors next to each other on the color wheel. They need one color to be dominant and another to complement it to look harmonious.
To be effective, sober combinations need a clear contrast between colors and are ideal for kitchens, bedrooms and living rooms to give the room a relaxed look.
Soft combinations are formed by combining dark and light colors of the same color family. This is the best choice if you want to create a relaxing atmosphere in your room.

The color of the year for 2020 is Curiosity, a retro blue inspired by azurite, a bright copper ore. With so much energy and optimism, we turned to our Mumbai-based guest stylists for the month, Pooja Bhandari and Keshav Murugesh, to break the color for us and offer styling tips for the fun blue this.
An accomplished designer publicist, Murugesh began his journey with Vivienne Westwood in London, before presenting at design houses such as Villeroy & Boch, Michael Kors and Coach in India and most recently Atelier Ashiesh Shah in Mumbai. With a keen eye for design, Keshav collaborated with Bhandari, a graduate from Rachna Sansad, Mumbai, who is an emerging interior and product designer, to style Curiosity.
The short is clear. Curiosity is meant to be used and incorporated as it is in a designer Indian home. Bhandari recalls. “It was the beginning of the year and we were sent digital color samples that looked interesting. But when we got into the office and saw swatches of it in real life, we knew it was the color. It’s very impressive and unique.”
“And very different.” Murugesh added: “Blue is generally a universal color, but this is something we haven’t seen before. My first thought was that when combined with white it would take me to Santorini. Our main challenge was to find this color to get and use it in a serious context… an office or a living room. Our main focus is how to create a beautiful home. We want to bring out the versatility of this shade.”
Asian Paints Colour Of The Year Has A Silver Lining
When creating this shade, the design duo used Curiosity in its raw paint form with no texturing or tinting methods. “It was a difficult color at first. And we wanted it to be useful in any room in its most basic form, as a solid painted wall. If we were to combine it with other colors, we would choose them from samples of the color Next forecast palette,” says Bhandari, while Murugesh advises: However, curiosity is very prominent. We want to use it in such a way that people cannot avoid including it in their home. It’s definitely a color that wakes you up.”
To help us integrate Curiosity into every room in the house, Murugesh and Bhandari are breaking the rules;
Pair it with a lighter shade of blue, like Bali Blue, by painting wide horizontal stripes that wrap around all four walls of the room. These bold stripes in contrasting tones will make a room appear wider (remember, wearing horizontal stripes is out of style), while the height of each strip will add dimension to the wall. Make sure each strip is at least 20 inches tall for the desired effect.
Use it in a matte pattern with matte tiles. Don’t go for a glossy finish as it will reflect too much light and look overwhelming. For anyone looking for a kitchen with clean lines and neutral tones that this color is too dominant, use it on doors or windows as accent pieces.

Integrate Curiosity into a dry area by pairing it with a lighter blue tile for a tonal, soothing aesthetic.
Do not include this color in the design of the room. paint the whole wall, like the wall behind the bed, in this shade without textures or blocking the color. The headboard (especially if it is made of wood) and linen (try bold colors) will reflect the brilliance of this cool retro blue.
This is a room where you can paint it as a solid color on all four walls. If that seems too monotonous, add a few thin horizontal stripes along the skirt in a bold shade like Jolokia Red. If you want a splash of color in this room but can’t do it on your walls, paint the inside of your bookshelves. You can also consider painting the ceiling this shade if all your walls are lined with bookshelves.
“It’s definitely the safest color for a child’s room,” says Bhandari. “It’s such a happy blue… goes so well with pop colors, especially the shades found in children’s toys. There is no single rule for styling this color in the children’s room. Follow your instincts and choose the color combinations that best suit your child’s personality, this is the rule of thumb for all children’s rooms,” advises Murugesh.

Corridors and paths are not the center of the house. Because it is a space that connects one room with another, it is a unique place to work with this retro blue. Add art or pictures in wooden frames to this painted wall or even green plants to bring out the richness of the color.
With its bright and energetic richness, Curiosity can light up an entire room. It works well in an area without natural light. If youare thinking of using it outside with lots of natural light, combine it with white for a Mediterranean fresco style.
Curiosity, while at first it seems strange and lively, gives you a very smooth and mature aesthetic.
