Although it doesn’t seem to be popular anymore in favor of more modern grays and greiges, it’s still a nice warm beige that goes very well with orange or yellow-toned wood.
It has been described as a “warm neutral beige” as well as a “mushroom”. I agree with both.
Pale Oak (OC-20) is a beautiful soft brown color with light purple undertones. This undertone means it works really well with more orange honey oak cabinets.
Not only does it suit them, thanks to its warm beige nature, but the purple also helps to tone down some of the orange in the oak cabinets, trim or floors.
The Best Wall Paint Colors To Go With Honey Oak — True Design House
As I said before, gray wouldn’t be my first choice for pairing with a lot of honey oak cabinets or trim simply because it tends to look drab and dull.
If you are really determined to paint your walls grey, then you should choose a warm gray such as SW Repose Gray (SW-7015). This is one of my all time favorite colors because it can be worn anywhere.
If you want the same shade but slightly lighter, try making it 50% lighter. If you’re looking for more saturation, try SW Mindful Grey, the darker shade in the color chart.
White Dove (OC-17) was the first paint color I bought for our first house, which was covered head to toe in very old orange oak.
Home Interiors With Green Trim Or Woodwork
This is a ceramic, off-white greige that adds warmth to walls and works well with orange wood.
With lots of bright natural light it looks white, but in a dark room it shows a slightly warm gray tone.
Such a white color can be used with an oak tree decoration. Combining this with crisp white trim really brings out the warmth.
If neutrals aren’t your thing, and you want to tone down some of the orange-yellow tones in your honey oak or maple, choosing a color on the opposite side of the color wheel will help offset the orange cabinets, trim, or floors.

Sherwin Williams Comfort Gray (SW 6205) is, contrary to the name, actually a light blue-green color with gray undertones.
This is a beautiful paint color to give any space a beachy feel. It works just as well with oak and other wood tones (even dark mahogany!) as it does with crisp white edges.

Benjamin Moore Salamander (2050-10), not a color I usually like, but when I first saw this image it stopped me in my tracks.
If you want to make a statement, whether in the kitchen, the bedroom or even the office, the salamander will definitely do it. It’s a very dark, moody green that – dare I say it – makes oak honey look real
