Greige is a combination of gray and beige and it has become more popular in recent years. Greige colors are often seen as a more subtle and versatile alternative to white walls, and they can give a room a warm and inviting feel. Greige colors can also be used to create a more modern look as they often have a modern and sophisticated feel.

Greige comes in a variety of shades, from light to dark. Some of the more popular shades of greige include light beige, which is a pale beige with gray undertones. Medium Greige is a warmer beige with gray undertones. Dark Greige is a deep gray with beige undertones.

Depending on the shade you choose, greige can be used to create different looks for your home because it is drawn from different colors.

The most common greige color (especially for walls) is light greige. Light greige is a versatile color that can be used in many different rooms and styles. It is a warm and inviting color that can be used to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. It is also a good choice for those who want to create a modern and contemporary look, as it has a clean and sophisticated feel.

Personally; My favorite shade is Sherwin Williams Drift of Mist. In fact, my whole house is painted in it!

Below you can see where the wall (above the whiteboard) was painted with a darker shade of greige. You can see more of this space with my chipped door post here.

Or you can see another example of this color in my room in our bedroom. You can really see the gray/beige tone on the gray barn door and white trim.

In different lighting this color takes on gray or a lighter shade of beige and I love it! I think it’s the perfect neutral that goes well with browns, grays, light and dark colors.

If I can give you a piece of advice when choosing the right color, always choose a lighter color (even lighter than you originally chose) if it’s in a room that doesn’t get a lot of light. If the room already receives a lot of natural light, you can choose a darker color.

Five Classic Color Combinations

Wall colors should subtly complement the rest of your home’s furniture and accessories, not be the center of attention!

Have I given you a good starting point for choosing a greige color for your home? I hope so! I’m sharing my top tips on how to choose the perfect color and my top five neutral color picks!

When building a new home or starting a renovation/renovation, the list of decisions you have to make can sometimes seem overwhelming. Cabinets, lighting, flooring, paint colors, upgrades, decorating options…and the list goes on.

Although color decisions may seem small (how many names and variations are there for beige?!?), choosing the right color can create the right mood in your home. By starting with a basic base color, you can always add solid accent colors along the way to help narrow down some of the first choices you need to make when building or renovating your room.

If one of these colors is too saturated for you, just ask the company to saturate your color to 75% or 50% (or whatever ratio you like). This keeps the same tone and color but brightens it up.

But I’ve learned that not all grays are created equal. When we first moved in, we painted most of Brooklyn House a very cool gray (Sherwin Williams Lattice to be exact). Although it is a beautiful color, it is always too cold and bland for my taste. This sent me looking for a greige paint color that wasn’t too cool, but wasn’t in the “beige building” color category either. Here are my favorites so far. 🙂

This is the darkest color in this post, but I think it would look great in a large space that could take a darker color. This color scheme is very popular on Pinterest and it’s easy to see why! I think this color looks great paired with white and espresso accents. I would be careful not to go too dark when using this color on the furniture or the room could end up looking heavy.

I think this is my favorite so far! It is clear that this is good, because we usually deal with smaller rooms. It is a very warm color, but I feel that different types of light during the day would be very interesting with this color.

Well, maybe I lied. This is probably my favorite. Also, if Shea McGee says it’s her favorite gray, it must be good. 🙂 A little cooler, but just as cute. I think this color would be very versatile and could be more gray or beige depending on what you pair it with.

This is very close to the two above, but looks a lighter yellow than gray to me. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a muted, light and airy beige color. It’s a very pretty color and would look great in a traditional home or new build that already has a lot of beige.

I think this color lives up to its name – it’s so comfortable! This color is more gray than beige which I like. It’s not too dark or too bright and I think it would look great anywhere.

This leans on the beige side for me and is almost a lighter version of Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter which is great if you love the color but want something a little lighter and more intense.
