There’s a reason Benjamin Moore’s Kendall Charcoal has grown in popularity year after year. It is neutrally flexible and ineffective. It’s very dark, and natural light loves it (and so do we!). In the design above, we used it in combination with Onyx accents. In some lighting, Soot has slightly more blue tones than Onyx, which is almost blue. We don’t follow the old rule of blue and black don’t mix. As you can see, these colors can work in harmony. However, if you really want to rely on navy, choosing Benjamin Moore’s Hale Navy is almost always a win in our book.
