Benjamin Moore Front Door Colours – Yesterday, I told you how bad our home decor was, that forced me to choose new paint colors. Even though you know I love to paint well, painting is never on my favorites list!

After visiting my interior designer Benjamin Moore, I chose yellow for the door and charcoal for all the decorations.

I decided to simplify the process starting from the very first door. It turned out to be a quick and easy transition. Here’s what i did:

Then I did. First, I vacuumed the space and cleaned the area around the front door with a broom and garden hose and a vacuum cleaner. It’s amazing how much better the entrance side is and less cobwebs and dirt on the side!

Then I washed the door and trimmed it with TSP, dried it, sanded it with a sanding block and glued it around the door handle. (I think the photo above was taken after I got it wet.)

I tried the door and found (no wonder) that it was painted with oil paint. My painter Benjamin Moore suggested that Aqua Lock Primer would run on oil paint so I used my first ~ and was happy it didn’t.

4. Paint the first edge of the door with a brush and roll the rest of the paint.

I really dropped the ball when it comes to shooting the next steps. I was too busy painting! I painted the front with Benjamin Moore’s Kendall Charcoal (low gloss finish) and the door with 2 coats of Yellow Marigold (semi gloss finish). I followed the instructions in the video above and used light and brushes to paint the door.

I have many plans for this space ~ including new lighting, doors and some decorations. But now that I’m coming home from a really hard day … A combination of the best blue gray colors and real house designs! There are many beautiful and quiet options that work well on walls, doors and more!

Originally our front door was painted Benjamin Moore Hale Navy. I like the color, but that part of our door is a bit dark that cannot be reached by normal light. The door rattled a bit during the kitchen refurbishment last summer and needed a fresh coat of paint. I have decided that I want to go for a light blue gray with a bit of green (as opposed to purple). It is sweet and delicious and reminds me of the beach, but without the fat and the “childish” blue. And although I used navy blue paint in the rooms to inspire the beach, shade can be beautiful in modern spaces!

I spent hours searching the internet and asking my readers what their favorite options were. After all the results are combined, I share the best blue-gray colors! In early 2019, I tried three different colors on our front door. From left to right you can see (all Benjamin Moore): Wedgewood Gray, Van Courtland Blue, and Water’s Edge. Great Choice I don’t think we can go wrong with one of these choices!

As a note to this original post, I actually used Benjamin Moore Van Courtland Blue in our bathroom earlier this year. It looks completely different in our house than at the top. But both versions are the same! Our bottom faces west so there’s plenty of warm morning sun and greenery. I think the laundry room upstairs doesn’t have much natural light and that’s probably one of the main reasons it looks different!
