I started by choosing the main color for the house, the one that would be in the main living areas. I chose Stonington Gray (HC-170) because of its soft gray color that blends well with other grays, provides enough contrast to the white, and can change slightly in the light to maintain interest while remaining cohesive.

I then chose bold accent colors of Kendall Charcoal (HC-166) and Hale Navy (HC-154) that would work well with the base color tones and add drama to the white wood paneling.

Having become interested in home design, I found out what style I like and what exactly

Our family and home. By that I mean I’m the only girl in our family, so pink isn’t something I want to decorate our house with, but maybe my wardrobe. I like to mix styles, but a neutral color palette works best for me. Neutrals are probably known as a safe zone in the home design department, but if you’re on a budget, it makes sense to go for neutrals for more expensive decorations that will last for years to come. I love adding natural elements like plants, fabrics and wood to a space that really creates a sense of comfort and appeal. And I really like the contrast because I love black and charcoal gray with light tones with a little pop of color – these are the types of interiors I always prefer! I wanted to make our home a little more modern with a neutral color palette, but keep the country charm. The first part of the transformation and the most effective way to transform a space is to paint the walls, so our entire main level was painted! The kitchen and living room used to be two different colors, as seen here, and I painted them a clean Benjamin Moore white. This ensures the uniformity of the flow in the room. In mid-October, I finished painting the kitchen elements
