When it comes to greige and taupe, there are always undertones. Like taxes, death and empty wine bottles, it is inevitable.

A beautiful color called GREIGE is firmly planted between gray and beige. Some greiges lean towards gray to make them cooler, while others lean towards the warmth of beige to make them warmer. In terms of undertones, gray favors a green undertone and rarely turns purple.

In the light range, it’s easier to find greiges with MINIMAL undertones. But when you get to the darker end of things they tend to have a bit of GREEN which means very few greiges make the cut as they always read more “green” than “neutral”.

Like greige, taupe is somewhere between gray and beige and can be warmer or cooler depending on the mix. But unlike greige, which leans toward green, taupe prefers a PURPLE undertone (sometimes mauve-pink) and rarely flashes green.
