Exterior Paint Favorites From Benjamin Moore
After going between colors, I finally decided to replace the yellow with farmhouse white.
I spent months researching my favorite designers on Pinterest and Instagram. I’m really torn between gray and off-white. Here are some images from the home design Pinterest boards that inspired me.
In my research, Light Reflectance Value (LRV); sounds, I’ve learned that baseboards and facades can play a huge role in how colors appear in a home.
Here’s a list of the top contenders for an exterior paint refresh. Then we’ll describe the colors we’ve chosen and why.
Benjamin Moore White Dove: Why Is It So Popular?
Our home is a classic modern farmhouse with dormers and covered lanai. Modern Modern Farmhouse is very white with lots of black accents. Personally, I didn’t want to look like a modern farmhouse. All of my inspirations showed a softer look with less contrast for a more classic look.
Narrowing this down can eliminate warmer, whiter whites. As I scroll through my favorite designers on Instagram, I keep coming back to Monika Hibbs’ beautiful white house. I messaged her and she was kind enough to share her white exterior paint Benjamin Moore Swiss coffee.
I think I fell in love with the name right away. I mean, how could they go wrong with the name “Swiss Coffee”? As I started researching this color palette, I knew this was the creamy white I was looking for. with an LRV of 83.93; It’s far from completely white, but still beautiful and bright. This white is creamy and definitely close to white. It has a much warmer tone and definitely pulls off the yellow in low light. At first I liked the yellow field, so it was fine.
Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee proves to be the perfect white for a modern farmhouse look. For some contrast, We used Benjamin Moore Frostin and Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal on the doors. Charcoal doors are a big “pop” against a white farmhouse exterior.

How To Choose The Right Exterior Paint Colors
One of the most common paint questions I’ve received over the years is choosing an exterior paint color. That’s because choosing an exterior paint color is one of the most difficult things you can do for your home. You want your home to look beautiful and you don’t want to make color mistakes. By following the 7 steps below, We promise to help you avoid common mistakes and make great exterior paint color decisions. Join me on this one.
The first thing to do when deciding what color to paint the exterior of your home is to choose a shade. When I say “blood,” I mean the light, the body of your house. Do you want a medium or dark color? At this point you are light or white; You don’t have to think about anything other than deciding whether you want a medium or medium or dark color.
In most cases, Choosing a shade is easy to decide right away and you can instantly tell whether a house is light or dark. However, Some of you are unsure and open to any shade and need a little help making that decision. Browsing exterior homes on Pinterest will be helpful for inspiration in deciding the best shade for your home. for example, If you have a ranch style home, just search “ranch style home exterior” on Pinterest and you will find all the different color options to inspire you.
Before deciding on a color, you should consider the color of your ceiling. If you have black or neutral gray; You don’t need to worry too much about discoloration. Unfortunately I have a brown ceiling with a bit of red, so colors like green or blue wouldn’t suit me and would be a contrast. red brown Those with green or blue-gray roofs should consider the color of the roof when choosing an exterior color palette.
Best Cool Paint Colors From Benjamin Moore
If you’re like me and have a red rash on your brown roof, you’ll want the body colors to be really neutral so your house can play it safe. If you have green or blue-gray swelling, add a little more and a neutral color or blend; To avoid compliments and color breaks, choose a color with a blush or hint of blush to avoid blushing. You can do anything with a black ceiling.
If your house has stone or brick; A strong base found in brick or stone should also be considered. If your home is all brick and you choose a trim color, The lightest found in stone/brick Match the medium or darkest color and use it as the accent color.
Unless your house is full brick/stone. half a brick/brick; or if there are only tons of bricks/stones. There are also color options to paint the exterior of your home. As long as the body color has a slight hint of brick/stone color, you shouldn’t have any damage issues. for example, If your brick has a warm tone and you want to change the body color of your house to gray. Choose gray instead of cool gray. In this way, the warmth of the gray blends a new body color into the bricks. Is that clear?
Next, once you’ve considered the roof color and decided on the shade, you need to consider the effect of light on your exterior paint color as opposed to choosing an interior color. Daylight/sunlight makes outdoor colors cooler/bluer; Colors are formed when there is more light. It may sound strange, but to get a balanced color that isn’t cool or blue, you have to make the outer color at least 2-3 times warmer. Let me show you what I mean.
