I’ve been using Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter in my favorite living room – specifically Ben Moore Revere Pewter HC-172. I wanted the room to be neutral because I had planned the decorations around the colorful crafts the kids were making. Guys, I have been trying to find the right dealer for Benjamin Moore. Every time I go to paint and need a BM brand, I have to drive about 30 miles to find a dealer. Benjamin Moore has its stores in other parts of the United States.
I was lucky enough to find Benjamin Moore at Ace Hardware’s. However, I have three Ace devices within a 30 mile radius, and only ONE of them carries the line.

Even after reading my Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter review, I would highly recommend getting swatches because the paint can look very different on the wall due to lighting.
Before I had our third child, I had a spare bedroom that I turned into a photo studio. I REALLY wanted a neutral wall with no undertones. I should have bought paint samples, but I didn’t. We read online reviews of the Gray Owl by Benjamin Moore and decided to buy without putting one on our walls. A big mistake.
It seemed to have blue tints. It worked out in the end because our third child joined and the nursery needed shades of blue (after they moved the photo studio to the nursery).

We bought Benjamin Moore Gray Owl without painting it on our walls and it turned out to be a huge mistake.
It is a lighter gray with warmer undertones than most grays. It is a beautiful, ancient jade that is lighter than most greys. Decorators describe pewter as a shade between silver and deep gray, both neutral colors. The respected part, I don’t know how they got the name. But I’d say it’s clear as far as tin paint goes.
You can ALWAYS try tagging if you don’t have a store near you. Color illusion can cause a big difference in the shade of a color with a warm gray light.
I will say that I painted the Revere Pewter color once with the Behr Marquee Paint & Primer line and had a perfect match!
Why Designer’s Love Benjamin Moore’s Revere Pewter Gray Paint
As you can see in my photo studio, it has a heated floor! This has a creative room light that cannot be turned on anywhere.
DO NOT just look at online samples. The pictures do not look like in real life. I feel the online photos of the model look greener than they are. Revere Pewter has a true gray tone to it.
It doesn’t change colors in different lighting areas, so I’d love to have this in every open space in my house if we ever repaint it.

I really liked the neutral color and in the end I wish I had started with the Revere Pewter on some of the main thin areas. It is such a beautiful and neutral color.
Two years after painting the walls, we decided to convert this space from an office to a children’s play area. Here’s what Revere Pewter still looks like today.
It is light gray with warm undertones. Benjamin Moore says on their site that it’s a great color change for any room. I tend to agree!

Seriously, Revere Pewter is so neutral that any traditional trim color (oak, white, or gray) looks great with it.
I don’t think Benjamin Moore would set Revere Pewter the way mine does. However, some disagree and call it a hot greige. I call it the perfect gray.
Revere Pewter can be combined with brown tones in certain lights. On the computer, the color has a touch of brown to it. However, as you can see from my photos, it is a true grey. It suits lighter and airier colors.
I got the eggshell color on my wall because it went in the art room. I didn’t want it to be shiny so the finish was perfect!

I know from experience that it’s hard to get a good gray because they can have a tint if the light hits them just right.
Honestly, this will be my lazy answer: Revere Pewter goes with everything. enough said? Have I used the word variety yet?
I wanted my art room to have neutral walls because we would be decorating with tons of color from the spool of yarn, great pictures of the kids, and a display of art supplies! I would love to have this color tone on my walls for the art room.
I will say that at one point I wanted it to be mint. But I think gray walls are necessary so I don’t have to repaint if the trend dies!

If you’re looking for a gray that’s true gray, Revere Pewter is definitely a paint color worth considering. After trying many grays, I will say that I wish I had gone with this color from the start of my renovation. The beautiful and classic color can complement almost all traditional decor styles.
