Benjamin Moore White Dove: Why Is It So Popular?
Who knew how hard it would be to choose the color white, right? There are hundreds of options with different tones, so narrowing them down can be frustrating and confusing.
Today we’re talking about Benjamin Moore’s popular White Dove, including tone, color scheme, location, and other things that will hopefully help you find the right white color for your home.
White Dove OC-17 is a bright neutral white that has been a Benjamin Moore bestseller for at least a few years. It is also known as PM-19 (PM stands for Pre-Color) and has all the properties you need for a neutral white color.
It is the color I have sold and recommended most for trim and cabinets over the past 30 years and use throughout my home.
How To Warm Up A White Kitchen
It provides a little light with a soft and bright tone. But it is white that can be used both cold and warm.
With a mix of gray and oxide tones, White Dove has a touch of gentle, soft tone. But it’s not yellow.
The LRV or light conversion value of White Dove is 85.38. On a scale of 0 to 100, with 100 being the brightest, 85 is considered light. Benjamin Moore’s whitest variety, Chantilly Lace, has an LRV of 90.
No, it doesn’t look yellow. Only when compared to cool-toned colors or gray does White Dove look uniformly yellow.

And even then, it’s more of a cream eye than actually yellow. Here’s a good example of this with a direct comparison of Wickham Gray.
Likewise, White Dove can appear a bit gray compared to colors with yellow accents. This is compared to linen white, a bright white color.
Benjamin Moore White Dove is very popular because it is warm and flexible. It has a beautiful white appearance but is not cold or haphazard.

Benjamin Moore White Dove (honest Review)
Benjamin Moore’s white is Chantilly lace. It’s really devoid of any tint and you can see here how the White Dove looks a little lighter and a little darker than the popular white.
One of Benjamin Moore’s white colors is Simply White. It is lighter and slightly lighter than White Dove.
Super White is lighter and quieter than White Dove. It is completely white and provides a clear contrast.
Perhaps the closest color to White Dove is Sherwin Williams Alabaster. It has an LRV of 82 and is much darker than White Dove. They have similar voices.
An Early 2000’s Kitchen Update With Benjamin Moore White Dove
Pure White is slightly lighter than White Dove. It is clear, clean and has an LRV of 84.
Another similar color is Greek Villa. On the 84 LRV it is slightly darker and lighter or more beige than White Dove.
Snowbound is the darkest with an LRV of 83 and is lighter in tone than White Dove.

The Best White Paint For Kitchen Cabinets
Our room is painted White Dove and this is a new photo. As with many whites, color can affect the white dove and make it appear to have different hues. The color of my carpet is reflected on the wall and gives it a nice touch.
Here is a vintage photo with a different furniture arrangement and some clever fall decorating ideas. We have a lot of large trees in the back yard and when I took this photo they were covered in green leaves so there is a small patch of green visible here.
This photo was taken in spring. One of the best things about White Dove is how easy it is to change the neck color.
My friend Debbie and Debbie Dion Hayes Creative used White Dove to paint the textured walls in their room and they are so beautiful with beautiful decor.

Jen Woodhouse added a window seat and packed it with boxes from her home. He used Revere Pewter to paint the trim on the cabinets and walls in White Dove. It is wonderful.

One of the rooms in our basement is my art room. A few years ago I painted the walls pure dove white, painted the laminate flooring on top and replaced the handles and handles on the cabinets to give them a new look.
