The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation worked with Benjamin Moore to create a palette of 144 colors from the 18th and 19th centuries, based on historic finds related to colonial Williamsburg.

The colors were found by CWF historians in period documents, paint samples, posters and architectural works, and Benjamin Moore provided the same technology needed to bring colors to consumers in the Benjamin Moore WILLIAMSBURG Color Collection.

The new collection is available in four paint finishes, including Aura, Regal Select, Advance and Grand Entrance, as well as pint-style samples.

Talk about a color that says “Wow.” That Cornwallis Red is a revelation. I like how they contrast against Washington Blue.

Carter Gray is a bright, bold color and looks great with blue/green bottles and orange accents in this room.
This wall color is great! If you have visited Williamsburg or other similar historic sites, you know that the paint colors used back then were very different from the ones we use today. Back then, the colors were bright and clear. Think light green, blue, red etc.
You just can’t go wrong with Harwood Putty. This is a wonderful white with some creaminess.

The living room and dining room had white walls with Williamsburg blue finishes and the color palette was consistent throughout our home. When I was building my own house in the early 1980s, I chose Williamsburg blue and cranberry. I remember the first Christmas tree was Williamsburg blue with silver accents. I think I even stitched an afghan in Williamsburg colors. Wow it feels like the past and here we are in 2013 with a new look
