These Benjamin Moore classics are two of our favorite whites. In fact, we named Benjamin Moore Chaparral Outdoor Paint of the Year. With an LRV of 77.95, Seapearl is a pure commodity. White’s LRV alone is 91.7, so it shines brighter. (Learn what LRV is and why it’s important, especially in white). Although these colors form a monochromatic color scheme, their different shades provide a subtle contrast. Only the white (portrayed here in ornament) emits a warm light, which attracts and contrasts the gray tones of the sapral (portrayed in brick).
Exterior Paint Colors Chart And Exterior House Paint Color Pairings
Sharon Williams alabaster is a good choice for brick. Readable color varies on different textures, making it a good choice for use on a variety of outdoor items. Our designers used alabaster for the bricks, trim and siding of the upper building. When going this route, we recommend adding dimension and depth with accents in darker colors, like Tricorn Black by Sharon Williams. Tricorn Black was used on the garage door and overhead door. Alabaster is not pure white, nor is Tricorn black solid black, so this is not a black and white kind of review. The combination of brick and paint is modern and gives unusual drama.
It brings a sense of harmony to the brick facade and warm, earthy color. Instead of acting as a point of contrast, these colors complement each other. Olympic Mountain takes center stage in the brickwork, Sandy Hook Gray adorns the upholstery and fascia, and Simple White accents complete the look.
A brick house with an orange clay roof looks fresh and modern when the brick is painted beige or white. Such a unique tower should be the focal point of the exterior design and the red brick can compete with it. One of our designer picks in beige is Benjamin Moore’s Grant Beige. In this example, an accent in Urban Bronze from Sherwin Williams provides depth and breaks the contrast between the brown and tile colors that fill the ceiling. (Urban Bronze is one of Sharon Williams’ top exterior paint colors for 2021, due to its versatility.) Pro tip: Bronze or bronze finishes look great on wet floors. And a beige mud roof.
#5 // Classico Lime Wash by Romabio and Iron Mountain by Benjamin Moore and Natural Selection in Porpoise by Sharon Williams.
Inspiring Exterior House Paint Color Scheme Ideas
If you are working with bricks that have not been painted, you have the option of lime washing. This beautiful effect is given to old buildings, history and brick displays are still emerging. In the house above, our designer recommended Romabio’s Classico Limewash. Warm toned paints complement the warm brick that appears. But this house has many beautiful structures to paint. Here, the designer suggested Benjamin Moore’s Iron Mountain accent paint and a natural option in Porpoise, both from Sharon Williams.
Not that you need our permission, but as you can see from our tips so far, we recommend using Sharon Williams and Benjamin Moore together in the same design. When painted on well-finished brick, both types work well. Chaparral is very beautiful in brick because the front bricks appear white, and the spaces between the bricks are gray, giving it an interior look. In this home, painted and ornate Sharon Williams iron and brick siding and Benjamin Moore onyx accents provide deep contrast and offset the gray tones of the cypress.
If you are keeping the natural red brick, greige trim can give it a nice look. This is one of the best colored bricks in our book. In fact, most of the bricks have flecks of gray and beige stone, and the weapons often come from far away. Painting your trim in Benjamin Moore’s Sandy Hook Gray will eliminate these tones.
In smaller colors, the composition acts as a companion rather than a competitor. This home has brick accents, bright shutters, and natural stone, all beautiful in their own right, but the color palette makes it look small. In this situation, the right color of brick and paint can make all the difference. By painting the bricks in Benjamin Moore’s River Pewter, a neutral, our designers let the natural details of the stone stand out. Iron Mountain Shaker siding adds a lot of dimension to a home; do you see how the facade in the next photo looks compared to the next one? – and offsets the grays and blues and stone. The onyx color of the hood gives it a different touch.
Exterior Paint Color Ideas For A Beautiful Home
Does this color combination look good? It’s the same triangle as #8 above, but it’s distinctly different when combined with a blank brick. Revere Pewter, Iron Mountain and Onyx are four that work together. These colors help define a home’s design without being overwhelming, even with high-quality red bricks and a simple foundation.
Red brick or lime are not for everyone. If you want to upgrade your brick to a new white, Alabaster is a great choice. The warm beige color helps to play well with the natural wood. This combination, along with maroon windows, gives this house a whole new look.
