Behr Just Made Choosing The Perfect Neutral Paint So Much Easier

If painting and freshening up and renovating your space is in your spring future, I wrote a good post on how to choose a paint color.

In fact, colors are not the same even in different rooms. How many times have you come to someone and found the perfect color on their wall, ran to the store, bought it and brought it home and painted it on the wall and it didn’t work. This is because the paint may change color slightly depending on the height of your ceiling and the amount of natural light in your room or the color of your floor.

I have used them in many rooms and places, and in towns and houses at the end of country roads.

This is one of my favorite whites. It’s hard to tell from the computer screen, but it has a lighter shade of gray and some cream.

When choosing it for trimming, I choose a semi-gloss finish that reflects light and makes it appear whiter.

It has a bit more of a khaki tone and works well with the sandbox and neutral colors we mentioned.

One quick note – SW Mindful Gray can easily be lighter or darker depending on the natural light in the room.

I’m dying to try. I haven’t lived with sage green since 2004, when I painted our bedroom an earthy shade slightly grayer than October fog. After a few years I was ready to move on, but it really encouraged me.

It reminds me of a Glidden paint I used quite a bit in the early 2000’s called Nurture. Is it too pastel for your space? The only way to find out is to simulate it and watch it all day.

A touch of pink is very beautiful in whites and here you can see it as an undertone of Foggy Morning.

Here’s a very European sky-inspired teal with a hint of grey. BM calls Aegean Teal 2136-40 an attractive midtone that creates a natural harmony.

If you’re looking for a soft neutral that goes with any decor, you’ll want to add Edgecomb Gray to your list of options. It has warm gray tones and looks warmer when used in rooms facing south or west and cooler in rooms facing north and east.
