Sherwin Williams Creamy is a wonderful cream because even though it sticks to the yellow, it doesn’t overpower it.
The cream has an LRV of 81, so it’s almost at the higher end of the white range – the white end of the shimmer thing. This means it can be completely washed out in light rooms, while in others you’ll notice its creamy warmth.
I don’t have to call it shy white because shy white is shy yellow! That’s right, Dimit White is a great way to go creamy without going overboard with the banana boat.
Although you won’t notice it until the color deepens a bit, there is a bit of teal on the inside, but it doesn’t show that deep at the party.

On the far side of cream is Benjamin Moore Featherbed, a cream-inspired color that definitely pushes the boundaries between cream and yellow. Personally, when I’m looking for a cream, a little goes a long way, but it depends on how much yellow you can stand.
Yellow isn’t a bad color in the photo below, but mom and dad are looking for a more muted approach in this early nursery…
The Featherbed LRV is 85.51 which is amazing as I would peg it in the mid 70’s. I think it’s because this color has a yellow undertone that shows up a bit too much.

To be honest, the area in this next photo would have liked a bit more reddish pink and less yellowish cream. However, this room was part of the larger kitchen shown above with some nice worktops, so we had to do what was best for hard surfaces (but still look good) first.

Winter wheat sounds like a fun name for a cream color that looks like fall! I love winter wheat for its soft, passive attitude. Winter wheat is a soft cream color with a medium brown base. If you darken this color, you will see green work, but it is a very bad cream.

Winter wheat has an LRV of 76, so it’s white, like most of the cream colors on this page. You’ll find that cream colors generally fall into the off-white to light-medium range (read more about color depth and LRV). As they darken (low LRV), they become golden, brown, brown, etc.
Long before scene grays and rosy builders’ beiges bored the daylights out of us, Gentle Cream took its place in the cream world, warming walls the world over!
Because Gentle Cream is one of the prettiest approaches to cream (if you ask me), it has just enough neutrals to soothe and just enough color to add warmth and interest! However, if you like yellow, you may find this color too passive (more of a brown-orange) and you’ll want to get one of the stronger options on this page.
Soft Cream’s LRV is also slightly higher at 72, which is more in the light range than the grey-white range.
Kitchen Trends We’re Loving In 2020
There are some cream colors that I don’t have pictures of, but they are still great colors to consider. Since I only use photos from my online color consulting clients, I always a) don’t have the photos I need or b) don’t have clear enough photos to use – this is the case with Dover White.
Dover White is tough, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t beautiful! It’s a tough one because people often use it for trim or cabinets, and it’s actually one of the whites I usually avoid on those surfaces. Why? Because Dover is white
Creamy appearance. However, as a trim or cabinet color, it can be difficult to match and can be very limiting in the long run.
A Benjamin Moore paint similar to Dover White would be Benjamin Moore Acadia White, and OBIDA I’m concerned about cabinets and moldings for the same reasons!
The Best Kitchen Cabinet Paint Colors, According To 18 Designers
Indian White is more of a soft cream that is not heavy with a smooth, light cream.
I love the color and can’t wait to get some e-design photos to use! Why do I love it? Well, the Windham cream is definitely one of those creams, with a strong yellow base, with a soothing neutral. I love the pretty glow of the Wyndham Cream (I’m not a fan of yellow!).
If you want to change it up a bit, check out Sherwin Williams Decor White, which is nice but more muted in Wyndham Cream.
Antique White is definitely one of Sherwin Williams’ most popular cream colors. Again, it’s all in the mix, a perfect balance of yellow with a soothing neutral base.
Best Kitchen Cabinet Paint Colors Of 2022
As far as cream colors go, Antique White winks at orange. With its LRV 72, it is actually higher up in the light range, lighting in gray and white.
However, antique white is often abused in kitchen cabinets with fake backs and tops. So while it’s a wonderful wall color, it’s one of those whites that I hesitate to use on cabinets or moldings. As you can see below, Antique White has enough creaminess/warmth to contrast with the opposite tones.
Previously, we visited Sherwin Williams Navajo White as a nice touch for Benjamin Moore Indian White. Navajo White is a beautiful cream color with obvious warmth, but also a nice neutral base for calming. Navajo White 72 is a little more “heavy cream” with LRV, so it’s not as fresh and smooth as the others, but it offers a slightly more yellow and traditional creaminess than the more comparable Benjamin Moore Soft Cream.
The difference between Benjamin Moore Navajo White and Sherwin Williams Navajo White is that while both are popular cream colors, Benjamin Moore’s version looks a little brighter and cleaner and has less yellow undertones.
My Favorite Sherwin Williams Paint Colors
. And I agree, Paley White is a seriously muted creme, passive – but it still has a soft base, it’s just super shades with a taupe that mutes it so much. If you don’t like yellow but like cream, this might be what you’re looking for.
