Also known as 973 Ice Formations, Revere Pewter is one of Benjamin Moore’s best-selling paint colors. According to Benjamin Moore, it is “an iconic neutral that provides a flexible bridge between warm and cool tones. Which shows that it works with many different colors.
Revere pewter has a reflective light value of 55.05, making it a medium tone color. Not too dark, not too light.
Revere Pewter For The Living Room
It tends to have cool neutral tones when painted on walls and looks best in west and south facing rooms. But it’s a beautiful, classic color that can be safely used anywhere in your home.
For a cool look, the color coordinating Revere Pewter has to be cool too. I studied Benjamin Moore paint samples in different lighting conditions and chose several colors that would work well with him.
Don’t let the name fool you. Mt. Rainier Gray is a combination of ice blue and cold gray and the blue color is shown on the large surface of the wall. It is a medium tone (not too light, not too dark) and can be pleasing in any room. LRV 59.48
A little cooler than Mt. Rainier Grey, feather gray is also a medium tone color. As you can see in the picture below, it looks great with the sofa which is a dark version of Revere Pewter.
Why Designer’s Love Benjamin Moore’s Revere Pewter Gray Paint
Provincial blue is a blue-green color with gray undertones that puts it on the cooler side of the spectrum. It is a great complementary or accent color to Revere Pewter. A great place to use it would be a bathroom, laundry room, accent furniture, or even closets, as shown below.
Calm is a light blue with a mix of sage and gray. And it’s a great color to complement Revere Pewter either as an accent wall or in an adjoining room. It sounds great and has the same deep color as Revere Pewter. You can use this color in the bedroom, bathroom, laundry room or office.
Edgecombe Gray is the lightest shade of Revere Pewter in Benjamin Moore’s color palette. Also known as 972 Alaskan Skies and OC-15 Baby Fawn, this is one of the best selling neutrals year after year. It can be the color of the whole house because there are so many.
Also known as 1521 Nature’s Essentials, Natural Surface is about half a shade lighter than Revere Pewter. According to Benjamin Moore, it is “a light gray that complements both warm and cool colors”. It has an undertone that is slightly yellower than Revere Pewter, but when used in the next room it can look like a lighter version.
Revere Pewter {the Best Home Decor Paint Colors}
The lighting in each room is different, often the actual color looks different in adjacent rooms. It’s just the way it is.
Seapearl is off-white with a cool gray undertone. Also known as China White, it has been a popular Benjamin Moore color for decades. It’s lighter than Edgecombe Gray or Natural Cream, so it would be great for a room with little natural light.
Ashley Gray has the same undertones as Revere Pewter but darker. Also known as Waynesboro Taupe 1544 and Shenandoah Taupe AC-36. And it has a slight hint of violet tones in certain lights, such as Reverend Pewter.
Slightly darker than Revere Pewter, it would be great as an accent wall or adjoining room. This beautiful bedroom is painted in pashmina. I like the contrast with the white bed.
Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter
The steam is white, soft and has a low temperature sound. It coordinates well with Revere pewter and is not as strong as other whites.
Silver Satin is an unusual white with a slight hint of lavender like Revere Pewter. It can be used as a trim color with Revere Pewter if you want a more subtle contrast than with a bright shade. This is another of Benjamin Moore’s best-selling paint colors.
I always recommend sampling any paint color before using it on your walls. You can do this in a number of ways, including painting a section of your wall, painting a small piece of foam board that can be moved around the room, or using skin samples and sticks.
When sampling paint colors, always look at them at different times of the day as they will look different depending on the light. If possible, see how they look on a cloudy day, at night, and on a sunny day.
The Best Paint Colors For Your Home

Do you want to add some color and personality to your home with paint but prefer something calm and neutral? These three Benjamin Moore colors are my favorite colors to try first. They all have colors found in nature so they make a great backdrop for many other accent colors!
Revere Pewter is the darling of the stage world. It’s not too gray but not beige either, it’s a warm neutral color that gives the walls a fresh look and a real pop of color against the white trim (for the best white trim colors, check out this post). This beautiful neutral works in many rooms – bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens and bathrooms for an airy look combined with other neutrals and white, a soft look with a blush or spa color, an elegant look combined with black or rich wood tones. , with a unique look paired with classic navy and red.
Constellation is a light blue that is perfect if you want a soft blue sky. It’s always a warmer blue/green than teal/lavender, and won’t have that harsh nursery-blue vibe you’ve been trying to avoid! Another very versatile color for public and private spaces is the one that reflects water and sky.

This is my favorite green. Again, a complex shade closer to the warm/yellow side of the green spectrum than the sage/blue side. And green is the last thing that is neutral in nature!
