Colours For East Facing Rooms – , can affect your perception. Natural light varies in color and intensity depending on where it comes from. If the beige that looked good in your last house looks pink, or the gray you like in your bedroom looks purple, it could be because you’re comparing rooms with different spaces.

In this article, I will teach you how natural light affects the color of interior paints (in the northern hemisphere anyway). I’ve also made some suggestions for neutral colors that go well with the lighting of these rooms. But before we get into the details, let’s review some important considerations when choosing an interior paint color…

Rooms with north-facing windows are cooler and have a gray light. Although there are many windows and a lot of sunlight, the color of the light will be cold. This means that cool colors (blues, grays, greens and some whites) can feel icy in a north-facing room. A north-facing room can counteract this cooling effect with warm colors or warm neutral paint.

Edgecomb Gray HC-173 is a nice cream gray without being too cool for homeowners who want more gray.

Navajo White OC-95 is a transparent cream. The blue light of the north-facing room contrasts with the yellow of this paint, creating a beautiful balance.

Grant Beige HC-83, a popular color, is gray with a slight gray undertone. It looks good in a well-lit, north-facing room.

A room with a south-facing window receives a warm, yellow light as the evening progresses. In the morning, these rooms can be shaded, so the color in this space is quite flat. If a south-facing room is very bright in the evening, cool or gray shades can help offset the warm light. The use of warm colors in this space vividly emphasizes the visual warmth of the room.

Balanced Beige SW 7037 is a beautiful warm taupe and one of my favorites. The combination of gray and brown makes it less toasty than the more traditional beige. It works well in a room with a lot of afternoon sun from a south-facing window.

Gray Owl OC-52 is light gray, warm, not frosty. Its color will be slightly muted in rooms that do not get much direct sunlight

Ballet White OC-9 is a light gray, slightly warm cream. This color can bring a lot of light and warmth to a space, but it can be too neutral in a south-facing room with little direct sunlight.

The Best Paint Colours For A North, East , South & West Facing Room

East (and west) facing rooms are more difficult to study because the light is not uniform. The bright, soft mornings of east-facing rooms are slightly warm. When the sun rises, the light shines in the east-facing room, and at midnight the colors can be a little brighter. After noon, rooms with east-facing windows become slightly gray and darker. These areas work best with warm colors. The cool shade feels a bit weak in the evenings.

Macadamia SW 6142 is a medium-light neutral with a golden beige tone that doesn’t fade into the evening.

Cream SW 7012 is one of the few whites that will stand its ground in an east-facing room. It warms the area without yellowing.

Techno Gray SW 6170 is a warm gray. With its soft green tone, this color retains its warmth in the cool evening light of an east-facing room.

What Are The Best Paint Colors For East Facing Rooms?

The west-facing room has little light in the morning. After noon, the light gradually warms up and brightens, and then its intensity increases. West-facing rooms work well with cool, warm colors, but be aware that afternoon sunlight brings out the intensity and depth of warmer tones.

If there are more windows in the wall, you’re dealing with more exposure (yes!) Know which windows let in unobstructed light. In general, you want to pay more attention to the main exposure of the room. The good news is that you’ll have a bit more flexibility with your personal color preferences.

A southwest-facing room will have warm, stronger light after noon, while a northeast-facing room will have a cold gray light throughout the day. A room with a southeast window usually has soft and warm light throughout the day, it is a little bright in the morning, and the intensity of the sun decreases in the afternoon thanks to the east. A room with northwest lighting is cool and gray all day, and a little warm light in the evening.

Eating cornflakes is great for memorizing the directions and not for determining them. If you want to know if a room is north, east, south, or west, you’ll need a compass (hell, Columbus, if you have one on your phone). Aim for the largest window in the room, and whatever direction you aim for is the direction of the room. If you’re lucky enough to have a double (or triple) room, you’ll get light from multiple angles. All this means more flexibility with the colors you can choose during decoration. However, there is a very intuitive way to tell the direction of the room. In this blog, we will help you with how and what color to use in different directions of the room.

Of the four directions, rooms facing north receive the least light. If you have a north-facing room, there will be no light at all times of the day. But don’t worry, now is not the time to put your house on the market, there are many wise tips and advice to make north-facing rooms brighter and more attractive.

The Best Paint Colors For Dark Rooms

In the beginning, avoid anything that has a blue or gray tone as it will make you feel a bit cold and comfortable. If you want to keep things bright and airy, choose a lighter color with a warm red or yellow, like our White 03, Beige 01 or Pink 01. Looking for more pops of color? Try Yellow 02 or Green 01. Alternatively, if you want to create a cocoon effect, you can experiment with warm and dark colors like Green 05 to make it look even better. You can make things cozier with soft furniture and soft lighting.

On the other hand, if you get a lot of light during the day, you’ve hit the jackpot. It faces south. The main direction, the virtues, are praised by real estate agents all over the world, the south-facing rooms get natural light. There will be no sunrise or sunset, just good natural light from dawn to dusk. Fortunately, you can choose the color you want. South-facing rooms can tolerate almost any color, so keep it natural.

The light is usually warm, so you can choose a cooler color than usual, like blue, green, or gray, but you can choose as light or dark a color as you like. Alternatively, using pale tones such as light pink or light green is a great way to enhance the mood of the space. You got it
