Cool White Paint Benjamin Moore – A few months ago I wrote a post about Behr’s most popular whites and you guys were really big fans of that post. Well, at least that’s what my analytics show me.
You know I’m spying, right?? I was joking. But if I see that the post is good, I will try to give you more of what you like.

I know, I know, I always talk about how much I love Behr paint, but sometimes you have to cheat and use a different brand of paint.

And I was wrong recently. I usually match my paint color to Behr, but this time I splurged and went with the one on the right.
Also, I’m going to bore you for a second and give you the LRV (Light Reflectance Value) for each color. I know you don’t wake up every morning wondering what color LRV your wall is, or go to the paint store looking for the perfect LRV.
But when it comes to white, one can see how one white can be more or less white than another.
LRV will show you how a light or dark paint color will look on your wall from 0 (black) to 100 (blind white).
White Paint Colors
White Dove is probably one of Benjamin Moore’s most popular colors. It’s a fairly soft white color with some gray undertones, making it a great choice for walls, trim, cabinets.
Dove white is a beautiful color in rooms with lots of natural light. The more natural light your room has, the higher the white dove will appear. In a room with less natural light, more gray shades of White Dove can be seen.
This is the color I cheated on. I was painting the kids bathroom and I knew I wanted it to be white and bright because I had just painted their cabinets.
I wanted a crisp white with a little heat and I think I got that. Simply White is a white that is not too harsh.
Chantilly Lace By Benjamin Moore
I have a window in the bathroom that gives the room natural light. Without natural light, this shade could be considered subtle.
And when I mean subtle, I mean subtle. Simply White is LRV 91, which shows you just how white this paint color can be.
BM Swiss Coffee is LRV 84, which means it’s not as white as the Simply White we just talked about. It is one of the most popular white colors because it is not very hard. It’s a creamy white with a hint of heat.
It has some yellow and green tones. It is a paint color that is more than a chameleon and can be changed with fixed elements in your home. I also recommend looking at each color, this one in particular, to see how it looks in your space.
Choosing The Right White Paint
Chantilly Lace may be one of the whitest whites in Benjamin Moore’s lineup. LRV is 92, so if you’ve been paying attention to me, you know that’s a pretty high number on the reflectivity scale.
The undertones of Chantilly lace do not exist. There is no paint color without undertones, but this particular color has the fewest undertones. Chantilly Lace can lean a little on the cool side.
Well, this is called white decorator for a reason. Decorator’s White is one of Benjamin Moore’s most popular whites…and decorators love it.
Decorator’s White has an LRV of 85, which should tell you that this color has some depth. There is a hint of gray tones that make it a cooler white.
Benjamin Moore 7 Most Popular White Paint Colors
Oh Navajo White, what I didn’t know 20 years ago when my husband and I bought our first home. Most of the walls are painted Navajo white and I liked the color.
And just like you never forget your first love, you never forget your first home. I loved our first house and I think I’m a little biased towards Navajo White.
Navajo white will be your creamy white with those shades. The color is more than white. It has an LRV of 80, which is one of the least reflective whites we’ve talked about. It definitely has some meat on its bones when it comes to sound.
White Cloud is becoming a very popular white color. It’s a warm white with an 87 LRV. There are some yellowish colors in the White Cloud that you can see combined with pure white.

However, with plenty of natural sunlight, those undertones are less noticeable. I painted my daughter’s room White Cloud.
(I actually matched it with Behr paint. I know some people are against it, but I do it all the time).
Same color, silly. But use a different gloss. You will be surprised how different the colors can be when the brightness is different. If you remember my post about Sherwin Williams Alabaster, my mom used alabaster on the walls, cabinets, and trim, but she used a different sheen each time…and it looks pretty darn good if I do say so myself.

Warm White Paint Colors To Cozy Up Your Space
Brushes: I love all the Wooster brushes, but this one is my favorite to use. This makes cutting much easier.
Masking tape: I hate bandaging and really try to avoid it, but when I can’t I make sure I use a good masking tape
Put on cloths: Yes, you need them, and you need lots of them. I’ve also used garbage bags and old shower rugs.
Cleaning Cloths: These are amazing everyday cleaning cloths, but they are perfect for underwater and walls before painting.
White Dove By Benjamin Moore In A Real Home
Paint Cup: This paint cup is shiny and has a magnetic strip to keep the brush from falling into the paint.
Multi-Position Brush Tool: The best tool you’ll ever use if you have high ceilings or just in general. I used something similar to this to paint my 15 foot ceilings in the family room and it was a lifesaver.
Paint Edger: It might get a bad rap, but if you do it right, it’s been a good help for me. Especially when cutting around windows and along baseboards.
Touch Up Cup: There’s nothing worse than pulling out a can of paint to do a little touch up.
Our (updated!) Favorite White Paint Colors
I’ve rambled on a bit in this post, but I’ll touch on it again. Choosing a wall color should be one of the last things you do when designing a room. Find a big focal point (rug, art, window treatments) and look for colors in those pieces that catch your eye. Get on Pinterest and check out magazines. Get some ideas about what
Do you want your room to be light and bright or dark and moody? If your home doesn’t have a lot of natural light, white walls can look dirty. I would consider a color with some color.
Take home some swatches and preferably some in color if you’re feeling ambitious. Use large foam boards from the dollar store and paint the designs on the board. Try it in every room. Note that each room receives different natural light. See what it looks like in the morning and evening.
I recently heard SAMPLIZE and I think it’s genius. Samplize offers cheaper and easier to use paint samples than traditional paint samples.
Designer Fave Neutral Paint: Benjamin Moore Simply White
Consider everything in your home…decor, flooring, etc. My floors are Brazilian cherry (very red) and I knew I wanted a slightly cooler color to play with the warm red tones of the floor.
Is your decor bright white or creamy white? Very cool grays don’t go well with very warm whites.
If you want to see the undertone of a color, look at the darkest color in the color bar. If you like the color of the paint but are afraid it will be too dark, ask for a 25% or 50% white trim.
It’s always a good idea to keep a list or color chart of the colors you’ve used in your home. I can’t tell you it’s helped me enough.
