Colors can easily wash out in the sun, so it’s a good idea to test your colors outside at different times of the day, you can buy samples from Hello Paint and Sampize delivered straight to your door.

This classic combination goes well with red brick. Benjamin Moore HC-175 Briarwood is a classic taupe that would work well in a garage or porch, paired with OC-65 Chantilly Lace in your trim, and I love the 2133-10 onyx painted front door in black, which is me. black paint color.

Brick works well with a combination of beige and yellow soft colors. Here I paired Benjamin Moore Greystone 1475, which you can use on your garage or porch door with HC-84 Elmira White trim and Night Train 1567 on your front door.

For a brown brick house, I would try Benjamin Moore CC-546 Metropolis on the front porch and garage door, OC-23 Classic Gray on the trim, and 1624 Westcott Navy on the door.

Please contact me if you use any of these combinations or have any questions!! I love our brick house, but I don’t like the color of the tile. It almost matches the mortar, and it is not the exterior element that I want to emphasize the most. I heard from a neighbor that the trim was painted last 2 owners ago. He saw the owner of the house hanging to paint the windows and thought it was very dangerous. I also learned that the color was called peanut butter and had never heard the exact color name.

In addition to the change of color, we also want to paint as an opportunity to repair some very cracked and damaged paint and wood. The trim and paint on the front of the house is actually in very good condition, but the back and right side are “weathered” and not very good. We decided to hire artists because this project is beyond our means and I’m worried about everyone on the ladder.

I planned to start painting for the first week of June, but they still haven’t shown up. Pittsburgh had a very rainy spring, so I’m sure their schedule is messed up. And we don’t have to give a deposit (maybe that’s why) BUT I can’t say I’m not upset that my phone calls and voicemails aren’t being returned. The good thing about this is that it means I spend more time agonizing over color choices.

A Stunning Exterior Makeover

Red brick houses with black siding are my favorite. But mostly these houses have slate roofs or gray asphalt. Our house has a medium brown roof. I was worried that if the trim was too dark or super dark it wouldn’t match the roof.

Our painters use Sherwin Williams exterior paint, so we found the darkest brown paint we could find. Then on my second trip, I caught more nuts. I had Andy spread out the anti-shear samples in various places around the house and hold them up by the trumpets above the front door.

And since it’s hard to imagine painting something as big as a house, I went through some options in Photoshop.

The first option for Sherwin Williams black paint was Tricorn Black, but I found it too strong. The Black Magic SW is a slightly softer black, but still has the boldness we’re looking for. This option brings out the dark notes of the brick, saying it is our TRIM.

When I first announced that we were thinking about a Sherwin Williams color to match the brick exterior, many people messaged me saying how much they recommended Black Fox. And they were right. It looks great with the brick and goes well with our brown roof. This winter is a very subtle option that allows you to speak a little louder than others. Brick adds a unique element to any home. The FRESH Method is a five-step approach to choosing an attractive color palette for your home’s exterior. By using FRESH thinking to choose the right color for every element—roof, siding, doors, windows, blinds, trim, and accents—you’ll create an appealing look.

There are many things to consider when choosing exterior colors for your home, one of which is durability.

Look at the established characteristics of any attractive house and you will begin to see a repetition of some of the tunes. This repetition allows different materials and textures to work well together. This is especially important for homes with a full or partial brick exterior.

When choosing colors for the exterior of your brick home, look for colors that match or complement the dominant color or brick color. All colors should be compatible with brick to create the best look. If you are building a new home, choose a brick first and build a color scheme that will complement that feature.

A colored tower is a term used when referring to stone, brick, roofing or other materials. In general, these important elements of the exterior of the house are not a single color, but a mixture of colors. Describing these materials as solid colors doesn’t do them justice, because the beauty is in the color variations. The term “color splash” describes a dominant color in a material of different colors. Color cast is a term that has its roots in photography and describes the overall color in a photo caused by sunlight or heat.

Then let’s look at the other four steps of FRESH. Details on how to do this can be found in our FRESH exterior brick and stone color scheme, available courtesy of us. Just click on the link.
