If you’ve noticed that your exterior plaster is looking dull, chipped, or stained, it’s a clear sign that it’s time for maintenance! To ensure the longevity of your plaster, home improvement specialist Nolan Painting can let you know if it’s time to repaint your plaster.
Exterior Paint Colors For Stucco Homes
Choosing from a variety of plaster paint colors allows you to decide what you’re looking for based on your home’s facade. To begin choosing colors, the easiest way to start is to check the surroundings of your home to ensure a harmonious look. As you can see, pay attention to the color and style choices you want to complete. The pros at Nolan Painting share how to choose the right plaster color for your home.
Tips For Choosing Exterior Paint Colors
If your home has plaster and stone exteriors, you can use this to your advantage when choosing the right color. To unify the two exteriors, choose a stone color to ensure a cohesive facade. Or, if your home’s exterior is entirely plaster, but loses the warming features provided by stone, choosing a plaster paint color like BM Briarwood (pictured here) or SW Mega Grease can work.
Neutral colors are a popular choice for providing a light and clean exterior without opting for white. Colors migrate within a hue and appear to have no color, while neutral colors have base colors that change with different lighting. Stucco paint colors like SW Neutral Ground (pictured here) and SW Stucco are great choices for that perfect neutral shade!
If you want to add some color to your plaster, classic blue is your way. Adding colors like BM Nimbus Gray or BM Van Dusen Blue will give you the perfect color tone and highlight the lighter colors on your home’s exterior. Take the chance and stand out with a refreshing color!
There’s nothing wrong with loving a classic look! BM Flawless is the perfect color to stand out from other homes in the neighborhood, while conveying a timeless look and feel.

It can be assumed that gray will never go out of style! Gray has long been a popular color, and it adds just the right amount of boldness to your home’s exterior! If you want to try this on your plaster, look for shades like BM Coventry Gray or SW Acear for a deeper tone. See pictures of Gray Plaster House here.
If color matching isn’t your thing, white plaster is a great alternative! When looking for the best white plaster paint, you need to carefully consider the concerns. Depending on the shades of white, depending on the type of lighting that shines in your home, the exterior may appear a different shade than you expect. However, if you’re considering white plaster, try a color like SW Oyster White, which is soft and creamy with browns and browns.

Eye Catching Stucco And Trim Color Combinations For Your Next Project
For stucco homes, which we often see in areas with hot climates, it makes sense to focus on lighter colors that help reflect the sun as much as possible. Let science do the work for you, and let your colors be medium.
That being said, you can still consider darker colors for smaller architectural features like window panes or an overhead garage door.
Don’t forget to choose the most attractive parts of your home as your focal point. For me, my favorite features of this California style home are the stone basement and the front door.

The Best Exterior Paint Colors In 2022: Choosing The Right Hue For Your Home
I like dark houses, but given the heat here and the low single-pitched roof, I stick with lighter colors. And the low contrast between colors keeps your eye focused on our favorite features here.
Neutral colors create a calming effect for such homes, and again, less contrast between body and trim makes the home feel larger. Here we chose to paint the garage door the same color as the body to draw attention to that beautiful red front door.
Body & Trim – KM5789 Shade Trim, Garage Door & Window – KM5819 Rotunda Wide, Front Door – KM5372 Copper Beach
Taking cues from the colors in the stone, we chose a dark gray to show off the body from the ceiling tiles, and made a splash with a fun orange door. Note that we kept the body the same and added a soft white to the garage door and window trim.

Body – KM5819 Rotunda White, Roof Trim and Garage Door – 407 Carbon, Other Trim – City Tower KM5823, Front Door – HLS4293 Indian Red
This project is for anyone who loves mid-century modern style and doesn’t want to stand out from the crowd. We’ve broken the rules a bit here, with a sharp contrast between the body and the roof and less attention to materials – but note that all other trim is very soft. We called the garage door to play with the bold red front door. This is probably my favorite project.
Body and Trim – 216 Malibu Beige, Garage Door and Roof Top – KM4943 Tunnel, Front Door – HLS4306 Pumpkin Spice
Again on the lighter side, we kept this color scheme soft and simple with one main color and two minor accents.
These Stucco Paint Ideas Go Beyond Classic Tan
Playing with ceiling tiles here, we chose a warm white for the body, a deep creamy brown for the ceiling trim and a stone parapet wall. Definitely this neutral color would make a great front door. We chose a deep blue to balance the warm scheme.
It’s probably a more neutral scheme minus a soft body color and a contrasting warm gray for the trim. The bright red door gives this palette some fun to talk about.

Here we focused on red clay tiles as a feature, and chose contrasting pastel body colors and trim with a fun orange front door.
