Farrow & Ball Colour Fan – There’s nothing like the upcoming holiday season to push home projects to the top of the list. am i right That’s why he decided to draw after staying at Bayberry House for four months.
As most of you know, I love decorating my place for Christmas. However, before the tree goes up, there are a few big things I want to accomplish. One of those projects was painting my master living room.
Farrow & Ball Colour Fan
I agree that the current color is perfect. It’s a creamy beige that will work well with anything. But I prefer gray to beige.
Farrow & Ball Archive Colour Fan
I have big plans for this room, including redoing the fireplace surround and mantel, but I want to give it a fresh look now that feels more like me. Since paint was the fastest solution, I decided to start.
I found a color I liked on Pinterest. Farrow and Ball blacked out. I have their fan deck colors, and Blackened seems to work well with the new parts I plan to bring into the space. Since it is quite bright, the color also brightens the room.
Since Sherwin Williams is honest, I had a similar color to them, and then I sampled it on my walls. There is no blue in it, but the wall looks blue. Since there was no gray and light blue, I decided to try another sample. I looked at the color palette again and chose Farrow & Ball’s Dimpse. This one is a bit darker and looks more gray to me. – I even did a few google searches to see what color other people’s walls were.
Again, I got the color match from Sherwin Williams and tried it out in my living room. It was great, but I still thought it was blue. After trying it out in different parts of the room, I decided to move on. (Spoiler alert: I should have trusted my “still blue” instinct.)
Farrow And Ball Dead Flat
I’m not sure how the color will show up here on the blog or on your screen. Due to different lighting and screen settings, it may not be blue. However, in person, it looks like a soft baby blue.
Dimps are a great color and although I can do it, baby blue walls are not my jam for this space. I like it better in pictures, but not so much in real life.
I’m going to put it together for a few days and see how I feel about it, but my gut tells me to paint it again next week. lol
I don’t mind drawing, this room came together in no time. But I’m still kicking myself for not getting it right the first time. However, this is the first room I’ve painted in the house so I’ll allow myself some grace.
Farrow & Ball Hague Blue
This is a good example of the importance of checking the paint colors on your walls. You may like a wall color you see online, but the color may be completely different in your home due to the lighting (or lack of lighting). I believe it will show what colors you want for your home. Not in a scary, ghostly way, but it will be obvious when a color doesn’t work.
I should point out that the Sherwin Williams color matches the Farrow & Ball color card perfectly to my eyes. I had a color match for another project I was working on and the results weren’t that close. (This other color is too dark, so I assume it doesn’t match.)
Anyway, that’s my painting adventure for today. I’ll keep you updated on what I decide to do and how things work out. (I’ll talk to you about my new cabinet and emerald chairs in another post. Stay tuned.)

Farrow And Ball Colour Chart. Fold Out Card
And about two and a half years ago, there were nine new colors. You can see the paint colors here.
Interestingly, Farrow and Ball have yet to add to their collection. It is always available in 132 colors. If they add new colors, they will release nine colors. Also, they send the deleted ones to their archive collection. You can still get the old colors, they just don’t promote them. However, I think there is an Archives Collection fan deck. I got one earlier when I was in town for an event at the Farrow & Ball showroom in the D&D Building.
Since three years have passed and so many changes have been made, I decided to update Benjamin Moore’s color matching chart.

Farrow & Ball Revive Archive Colours + Devol Launch Paint Collection — Melanie Lissack Interiors
For the new chart, I removed 18 archival colors and added 18 new colors. (And, fixing some boos I made)
Please note that the colors you see on your monitor may vary. To see the true colors, you’ll need a color card or real paint to try it out.
Mauve. A dirty word in America thanks to the awful brass/paw era of the 80s. But, it is a beautiful color; It’s hard to compare, because like I said, dirty words.
Hmmm… this color is the color of marmite paint. No American should attempt this; ;] Except maybe Miles Redd. Good if you like it. I do, but only as an accent color.
Farrow & Ball New Colors
The second I saw this color, I knew it would go well with the beautiful Rolling Hills 1497. It’s one of the Laurel Home Paint / Color Collection Palettes.
I remembered that. I took this picture in the Farrow & Ball store a year ago when we were organizing around Cambridge on our trip to England.
Also, revised 2018 Farrow and Ball Paint Colors to match Benjamin Moore are coming soon. But before you dive in some words.
Colors on your monitor may deviate from real life colors. You see Farrow and Ball describe their colors and some of them scare me. My color matching was done from actual samples from Farrow & Ball and Benjamin Moore.
Farrow & Ball Modern Eggshell
It’s an exercise. That is not to disparage Farrow & Ball in any way. I really love and recommend their paint, if you can afford it and it’s readily available, it’s recommended.
Additionally, I’ve written about them here and linked to their company dozens of times. One of my favorite posts is about the best Farrow & Ball paint colors for kitchen cabinets.
I also really like Benjamin Moore paints. Finally, I cannot promise that the outcome of any match will be satisfactory. One of the reasons for that is that the paint chips are sometimes a little less. So as always, check your colors!
It can be said that some stores have formulas. Please don’t think they are the same.
