In 2021, soft brown-based shades like Jitney and Dead Salmon will be neutrals and offer a comfortable alternative to the popular white and gray. Jitney is a great color to build on, especially in the kitchen where you can add some earthy colors to the upper units and islands.

If you’re looking for a more intense color, the beautiful, bold Indian Yellow offers a strong and moody ocher tone, but the undertones keep things safe.

Jitney from Farrow & Ball is cool. This earthy color is somewhere between the traditional Oxford Stone and the grayer Elephant’s Breath. The color is wonderfully refreshing and reminds us of lazy days by the sea; so it shares its name with the bus that takes New Yorkers from the tropical city to the equally colorful beaches of the Hamptons.

Dead Salmon by Farrow & Ball is a vintage salmon pink whose name refers to the flat or ‘dead’ finish of the old pink of Kedleston Hall in 1805. This color has a magical quality for all to see. different. Whether it’s a strong mushroom full of history or a warm neutral camel, this deep salmon pink creates a very bright and peaceful environment, suitable as a background in rooms with candlelight.

India Yellow by Farrow & Ball is a strong, rich yellow color that takes its name from the color collected from the urine of cows fed a special diet of mango leaves. Farrow & Ball’s Slipper Satin is a chalky off-white color named after the color of the silk used in traditional ballet slippers. Without the cool blue undertones, Slipper Satin often reads like a pale gray chalk, making it neutral against walls with dark aged white woodwork. Combine with other shades of Classic Neutrals for a subtle and sophisticated scheme.

In this kitchen design that we designed and produced for our client in Stock, Essex, the client chose two modern shades to create a two tone color scheme. Slipper Satin is hand painted on the main cabinets in this handcrafted kitchen. This soft color looks great on our unique shaker design, complete with brass hardware, and the sleek look of Sub-Zero Wolf’s professional instruments.

One of the first colors in Farrow & Ball’s off-white palette, it has a chalky midtone, a timeless classic. Off-White falls within the Traditional Neutrals and works perfectly with Vintage White, Slipper Satin and Lemon White. The green interior gives a unique softness to the white color, creating a chalky and traditional wall color or a rough wood tone. It is also perfect for use on the floor and reflects the light to the wall while maintaining a soft and warm feel.

The Green Room card from Farrow & Ball is a masculine green room named after the study, similar to the rooms that were very popular in the Victorian era, and is not masculine in feel. It really comes to life when compared to warm neutrals like Off-White or in combination with dark Studi Green, but gives it a modern feel when used without contrast.

The Green Room card is hand painted on the kitchen island of our Stock, Essex project. This island comes alive compared to the pale chalk called Slipper Satin.

Farrow & Ball Mahogany is dark, green and takes its name from the deep red wood used by cabinetmakers such as Thomas Chippendale. This inviting, rich shade is filled with warm tones that provide unparalleled color depth. Almost burnt brown colors create a pleasant retreat covering the room in dark earth. It is often used by Dead Salmon to complement historic art and antique furniture.

A sophisticated eggplant. Brinjal gets its name from the beautiful, deep and shiny skin of the eggplant, so it is best in Full Gloss. It can create a warm and sophisticated look when used on any wall, but is often used as a feature wall to enhance a neutral Rolled Stone scheme or as an accent under a bathroom or kitchen island.

This timeless bone white gets its name from the chalky pigments used in the original puppies. One of our classic Neutrals, its soft tone is created by adding a small amount of green pigment. Lime White has a timeless feel and becomes sophisticated and understated when combined with Vintage White or Slipper Satin.

I have to admit I’m not that familiar with Off White, and for the sake of this post I’ll assume you share my ignorance and tell me what Off White really is.

Farrow and Ball’s New White is true to the association of white (as opposed to pale yellow or soft taupe) but has a distinct creamy vibe.

This particular Farrow and Ball paint job is boring and uncool for today. Instead, New White has a softer, softer feel, making it the perfect off-white shade with minimal decor for our daughters’ bedrooms.
