Grey Green Exterior Paint Colors
Benjamin Moore’s Thunder is one of our favorite light grays to recommend for outdoors because it’s a complex, atmospheric color. Thunder is a warmer light gray color with a hint of gray. For the transitional modern home shown above, our designers used Thunder siding and painted the finish with Steam by Benjamin Moore. The soft, clean look of the Steam combined with the warm tones of the light gray paneling creates a friendly aesthetic that we love.
Weathershield Colour Guide
Our designers recommend Repose Gray by Sherwin Williams for a variety of home styles. Paired with Benjamin Moore’s Black Forest Green, like the house above, it creates one of our favorite gray house color schemes. Our designers chose a neutral Repose Gray color for the James Hardie Reveal cladding system and James Hardie Artisan siding. This warm gray shade has equal shades of gray and green, a multi-dimensionality emphasized by Black Forest Green accents on the front doors, windows, eaves and ceiling coverings. The Woodtone finish enhances the depth of color and creates an earthy palette that is very attractive in a modern home.
We can’t talk about the best modern exterior color schemes for gray homes without mentioning Benjamin Moore’s dynamic duo of Chelsea Gray and Seapearl. A sophisticated Chelsea gray color adds depth to the home shown above. Our designers recommend Seapearl by Benjamin Moore for stone, trim, eaves and trim. The subtle white Seapearl is the perfect complement to the Chelsea Gray contrast.
If you’re looking to achieve a bolder aesthetic, this next combination is sure to be one of your favorite gray color schemes in the home. Benjamin Moore’s wrought iron is a saturated charcoal gray. Works best with light or dark accents. Our designers like to combine two darker colors; the effect is very attractive. To render the above, our designers chose Benjamin Moore black for the finishing touch. The wood paneling and accents give this home a bold vibe and really add curb appeal.
Are you looking for a modern gray house exterior color scheme with gray? Look no further. Benjamin Moore’s Revere Pewter is one of our all-time favorite gray shades. This attractive shade can be warm or cool, depending on the natural light. To render the above, our designers chose to create limestone brick using Revere Pewter and used Benjamin Moore’s Black Beauty for trim and accents. The combination of gray and black gives a wonderful contrast. We especially love Benjamin Moore’s splash of Galapagos Turquoise on the front door.

Not only does Revere Pewter look amazing when used as brick plaster, but it also looks great when painted on brick. For the neutral brick, our designers chose a darker shade of siding to create contrast. Benjamin Moore’s Graphite is an attractive deep charcoal shade that works perfectly with the softer tones of Revere Pewter. The contrast between these two colors highlights the different fabrics in this house, creating an interesting dimension.
Some of our favorite exterior color schemes for modern gray homes include a bold color tone as a companion to the grays. In the rendering above, our designers suggested Benjamin Moore’s Kendall Charcoal for the siding and Sherwin Williams’ Shoji White for the finial. Incorporating an exciting burst of color by using Wasabi by Benjamin Moore on your front door results in a dramatic, creative aesthetic.
Are you looking for a bolder and more modern atmosphere outside your home? Graphite is one of our favorite carbon colors. Suitable for combining lighter colors such as Galapagos turquoise by Benjamin Moore. Adding a splash of color to a home with a dark exterior is the perfect way to take your home design to the next level. Our designers also included Revere Pewter in the accents of this home, proving that sometimes the best way to create a gray color scheme is to add more than one gray.
One of the best options for modern gray exterior home color schemes is medium dark gray with black accents. Amherst Gray by Benjamin Moore is one of our popular gray shades. This shade leans towards the darker side and gives a new look to the stucco in the house shown above. Instead of going all out, our designers chose Sherwin Williams’ almost black caviar for the finishing touch. The gray stone surrounding the garage adds a monochrome look to the house while creating a layered look.

Gray is often thought of as a color that exists between white and black, but it’s not that simple. There are many different aspects of gray, not just whether the shade is light, medium or dark. Deep River by Benjamin Moore is very dynamic because it is dark and has shades of blue. In the plaster above, the intensity of the Deep River trim is complemented by the warmth of the Revere Pewter brick.
While we love the way the two darker shades work together, we also love the contrast offered by combining the darker shade with white accents. Like Deep River, Benjamin Moore’s raccoon dog fur is a dark, rich shade of gray with blue undertones. Our designers chose to combine saturated paneling with light, fresh alabaster by Sherwin Williams. The softness and warmth of the alabaster edge is the perfect companion to the depth of the raccoon fur exterior.
Sherwin Williams Gray Zone is a warm, inviting gray color that looks great against the brick in the rendering above. Our designers used Benjamin Moore’s Cheating Heart siding to add depth and some mood. Finishes, entry doors and accents feature Benjamin Moore’s Black Beauty to further enhance the design’s color scheme.
Gray isn’t the only middle tone you get when you mix black and white. It can vary from almost white to almost black. It is gray, brownish gray, graphite and gray with different shades. We love the complexity of the gray exterior! Due to its diversity, gray offers many amazing color possibilities. Whether you want to be subtle or want to be a house that stands out in your area, there is a gray sphere color palette designed for you.

Are you interested in color combinations we didn’t mention? The rendering we used for the image at the top of this post shows one of our favorite gray color schemes for comparison. Our designers chose Iron Mountain cladding with Seapearl for the bricks. Galapagos turquoise front doors take curb appeal to the next level. The last image on this page shows siding done in Benjamin Moore’s Deep Creek and Dragon’s Breath with Sherwin Williams’ Iron Ore finish. Are you looking for beautiful green color schemes? You have come to the right place. Just as important as the interior colors you choose. The colors outside your home should make you want to go every day. When it comes to choosing exterior cladding colors, you can’t go wrong with trendy shades of gray or classic neutral tones. But if you want to stand out, consider giving your home a stylish touch by going green.
It’s common knowledge that the colors you choose affect how you feel about them. But what many people don’t realize is that the same principle applies outside of your home. A neighborhood full of beige houses is not very appealing to the eye. Boring color schemes don’t inspire much excitement when you’re standing on the curb. While many real estate agents can advise choosing a neutral color to attract as many potential buyers as possible. No one chooses beige as their favorite color. Playing it safe isn’t always the best choice, although no one can hate a house, it’s safe to say no one will love it.
