Grey Owl Benjamin Moore Cabinets – I’ve gotten so many questions about Benjamin Moore Gray Owl that I thought I’d do a Color by Color Spotlight to look at the differences between Gray Owl, Shirin Williams Repose Gray, Benjamin Moore Stonington, and Benjamin Moore Classic Gray. Talk about because they exist. . . Some important differences.

Gray Owl has been Benjamin Moore’s best selling paint color for 4-5 years now and it’s no surprise as it is a stunning and very versatile light warm grey.

Gray owl has the perfect balance of warm/cool tones, which makes it such a reliable color. However, with all the light warm grays, the more natural light in the space, the cooler the color. I personally think gray owls do best in a place with natural light or very little natural light. In areas that are flooded with natural light, the color turns gray or even blue. Areas facing west with natural light are exceptional. Gray owls look amazing. That’s the thing.

Best Paint Colors For Kitchens With Dark Cabinets

It’s important for me to note that when it comes to light warm gray colors, I don’t recommend matching the colors, instead choosing which brand of paint you want to buy. When it was done over a light warm gray, I noticed a noticeable difference in color. Sherry Williams, Benjamin Moore and Bird have a series of white bases before mixing color. Any slight change in the base color can dramatically affect these bright warm colors.

Gray owl (with the right lighting) can be one of the best wall colors and can be the best base for other beautiful design elements and space colors.

I think the gray owl tab below would look great. Note that the space has a mixture of natural light and artificial light. For me, this mix is the best case for gray owls.

Although gray owl is one of my favorite colors, it is a very subtle color and needs to be modeled in space and light to match all the stars.

I get questions all the time about the differences between Benjamin Moore Gray Bow, Sherwin Williams Repose Grey, Benjamin Moore Stonington and Benjamin Moore Classic Grey, and let’s talk about these small differences.

When you look at the colors above on a computer, the differences are not insignificant, but very important. However, the differences on the wall are very subtle, but in certain lighting conditions the differences can be very large.

Gray Owl is slightly lighter than Repose Grey, and Repose is slightly warmer than Gray Owl. However, these two colors are almost the same on the wall. Repose gray is the first color I recommend to my clients because it is not as subtle as gray owl because Repose is a little warmer. BTW, you can read more about Sharin Williams Repose Gray here.

Note above that the space in my client’s kitchen has a lot of natural light. Note how the rest stays warm in this position. The gray wool is a bit cooler in this area with this light.

White Paint Color Ideas To Brighten Up A Space

When you look at the color swatches above, Stington Gray looks like a completely different color, doesn’t it? The differences between Stonington and Gray Owl on the wall are very subtle. But!! As you can see above, Stonington also has a nice gray color that can be very cool in areas with lots of natural light. In areas with mixed or little natural light/artificial light (or west-facing direct sunlight), Stonington is interesting, and sometimes it is difficult to tell the difference between Stonington and gray owl. Stonington also has a slightly darker shade.

Benjamin Moore Classic Gray is brighter than the other three colors and is the color I recommend in most natural light where the other three colors can feel cold/sterile.

See below how this space, designed by Studio McGee, is full of natural light and Benjamin Moore’s classic gray is a beautiful mix of warm/cool light warm gray that is still warm. Classic gray may not be the best color choice in areas without natural light, but it is a great alternative to gray owl, repose and stonton when there is plenty of natural light.

I rarely use classic gray, but when I do, it’s the right lighting situation mentioned above with lots of natural light. Gray owl, Calm and especially Stington will be very cold/sterile or even reddish blue in this light.

So the elucidation of the moral of the story has a significant effect on this bright warm gray. To be sure, it is very important to choose the first color in the space.
