Ikea Malm Dressing Table Ideas – So is anyone even surprised that my new dressing table is from IKEA?
I go ahead and think that no one’s hands are off. My love of Ikea makeup storage – and Ikea in general – has been well documented, but you might be surprised to know that
Ikea Malm Dressing Table Ideas
I just ran straight to ikea looking for makeup storage ideas for the new bedroom. No, it took me about five minutes to get to the Ikea website and start telling Terry that we were running late visiting the store.
Gorgeous Makeup Dressing Table Ideas To Help You Start Your Morning Right
Just kidding, of course: I was thinking about buying a dressing table before we bought the house.
I shopped elsewhere, but the truth is that I went back and forth to IKEA MALM. I liked this table not only because the clean, small shape is more to my taste, but also because of the long, shallow drawer that fits all the flavors:
(The clear chair is from Tesco, of all places. The glass was from Bay – you can find a similar one here.)
When it comes to makeup storage, I like shallow containers of some description that allow you to see everything quickly without having to hunt for that lipstick you know is somewhere but always finds it. its way to the bottom of the pile. That’s why I bought my acrylic paintings at Muji last year: I still love them (and will use them to make jewellery, now that I don’t need make-up anymore so they don’t spoil!) but Terry wasn’t ‘t’. I really liked the huge toilet tower in the bathroom and liked the idea of having everything in one drawer, so the decision was made and the sink was finally delivered last week.

The drawers inside the drawers are also from Ikea (from the Billingen range: I had the clear plastic ones from the Godmorgon range but I like these as they are just pretty I think. The table will seat 6 like this) and I was able to fit all my makeup in them -up with less space (although not too much, as you can see) for future purchases. Although my makeup collection may seem ridiculous to some people, I know it’s small compared to a true makeup junkie – I’m not interested in hoarding colors etc so I only buy things that I use. always (and tons of red, of course…) which made everything fit easily in the drawer. If you have a lot of makeup, you may need additional makeup storage! I kept the Muji acrylic container for the brushes that sit on top of the sink, but I could have found room for them in the drawer if I really wanted to.
One of the most difficult parts of the project was finding the right glass. I’ve wanted a vanity with lights since I was little, but all the ones we found were too expensive and even the Ikea “Hollywood lights” that can be mounted around an existing mirror would take them all. house in the budget. But Terry managed to track down this make-up mirror on eBay and took it to Edinburgh with his dad last week. I absolutely love it and after years of standing on the edge of the bed or standing in front of the bathroom mirror to do my makeup, it feels so special to be able to sit down and not hold back. and even more to collect different things.
So what do you do if you need your new vanity a little more than you should? Why, you get one, of course! In my defense, it wasn’t my fault that we ended up with two “Malm” dressing tables… the first one we ordered had a mark on the front of the drawer: it wasn’t a big deal, but hey, you know, you order a new dressing table table, you want it to be perfect, so we called Ikea, no problem, they will send a drawing instead. Fast forward to Wednesday morning, there was a knock on the door (actually they were on their way before seven o’clock. I don’t think I can complain too much about what happened after that…) and there were some couriers from Ikea. .. with a new dressing table. They didn’t want to return the original one, so it seems that instead of replacing the drawer (which was all we asked for), they decided to send us a new table.
Of course I was super excited about it and then started thinking about what new makeup I would “need” to buy to fill it in, but Terry quickly stopped me by saying I didn’t want to. it needs two dressing tables, so if we can’t find another use, we’ll send it to someone who needs it. Well, we thought again, and since we want a really simple structure that doesn’t look “toilet-y” without a vanity mirror, we think we’ll use it as a cone. table in the living room. We were planning on getting one of these so we thought it would be silly not to try it out and see how it looks. Hey, I wonder if Terry would notice if I filled the drawer with makeup?

Recommended addon: Over the last few weeks I have been inundated with inquiries from people wanting a direct link to the eBay auction I bought the glasses from: my glasses were a private sale (someone bought them and then I decided to sell them, so I’m afraid , that I can’t give a link, and I don’t know the brand or where they bought it.
