Jan Karon Books In Order Mitford Series – Have you ever wondered what to read after Jan Karon’s Mitford series? Or maybe you’re wondering about the same book as Mitford. Here are some books, authors, and series that read a lot like Mitford.

In 1994, Jan Karon first introduced readers to At Home In Mitford, the first book in the Mitford series. He wrote a total of fourteen books in this beloved series.

I’m a bit late for Mitford’s book. I only started reading it a few years ago, but once I read it, I can see why so many readers love it.

I have read all but the last few books in the Mitford series. I insist on reading the last few books every year to keep the series going. This is a series of books that I can see myself re-reading ten years from now.

But what happens when you finish the Mitford series? Or when to rest? Are there other books like Jane Cullen’s Mitford series?

It’s hard to compare it to beloved series and authors like Mitford and Jane Karen. You won’t find the same thing, but you can get close.

Neither book is the same as Mitford’s, but I think they are very similar. Everything has a cozy small-town feel, and many people love Mitford.

Somewhere Safe With Somebody Good: The New Mitford Novel

Most of the books on the list are books on the list. These books and series have stood the test of time. This also means you should be able to find them easily at your local library or used bookstore.

If you’re a Mitford fan and have always wondered what it’s like to be at home in Mitford, I’ve shared some of my thoughts on the book and film At Home in Mitford. Readers have strong opinions about it, so be sure to read the reviews.

These are all the books I’ve read, or at least the first few books in the series.

More Things in Heaven and Earth by Jeff High is the first book in a four book series. The story takes place in Tennessee, and the main character in the book is a doctor. He could have done great things in medical research, but chose to work in Water Valley, Tennessee

The Book of Miss Buncle D.E. Stevenson is the first book in a four book series. It was first published in 1936. I discovered this series a year or two ago. I ordered the next two books in the series before I finished the first book. The series is set in England so it has a different feel to Mitford, but if you like Mitford, I think you’ll love the book.

Elm Creek Quilts book by Jennifer Chiaverini. The series consists of twenty-one books, so if you like them, you’ll be reading them for a while. I read the first few books in this series many years ago when my children were young. They are great reads for me as a bored new mom in need of a light and relaxing read. I have read the first five or six articles in the series. I kept telling myself I had to go back and read the whole thing.

Irish State Doctor Patrick Taylor is often compared to Mitford. The series follows a doctor who drops out of medical school and starts life in a small village in Ireland. I think it’s a bit like Mitford, but I’d say it’s more PG-13 than Mitford. I think this could be the difference between the US and Ireland. I think some of these can be different cultures that are viewed differently in the book. If you like Mitford and don’t mind PG, you might like this. A reader told me that the series is good audio-wise because of the narrator’s accent.

The Smell of Water by Elizabeth Goudge and The Dean’s Hour are both books by Elizabeth Goudge, which I think Mitford really liked. This is a standalone book, not part of a series. Both are set in England, so the setting is different from Mitford, but they have that cozy, quaint, village/small town setting that many people love about Mitford. If you like Mitford, I think you’ll enjoy reading these two.

Cape Light by Katherine Spencer and Thomas Kinkade is a series I picked up at the library for 50 cents a few years ago. This is an old series, first released in 2004. I have heard about the series and decided to try it. I read the first two books in the series and liked them for what they were, lighthearted, quite typical, rather predictable Christian Romance type books. Instead, they have the feel of a country town. This city is not a perfect city. People have problems and issues and you walk with them. I will say that I highly doubt Thomas Kindake has much to do with the series. I’m guessing Katherine Spencer wrote everything in it and Thomas Kindake’s name was used to sell it.

I heard these books are very similar to Mitford and are on my reading list. Since I have not read them, I can not say that they will read like Mitford, but I will say that I bought all the first books in this series because I really wanted to.

This is the whole series, but I just listed the first in the series. If you’ve read any of them, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
