Joanna Gaines Favorite Paint Colors – If you’re trying to redecorate your home but can’t figure out which colors go well together, things can get frustrating. Especially if you just bought a house and every room has 1980s paper flowers like mine! It can be a pain to get back from the paint store too. I feel like I’ve had every color known to man at one point trying to pick paint colors. What I did was browse Pinterest, find inspiring rooms and try to find a painting like this. Of course, every paint color will look different in your room, but I guess it’s easier to visualize the color when you see it on someone’s walls, right? And since I’m the biggest Fixer Upper fan around, I decided to put together some color schemes throughout the house inspired by Joanna Gaines herself. So let’s talk about Joanna’s favorite colors and how she mixes colors to create open, inviting and seamless transitions.
So let’s talk about Joanna’s background first. I want to share this first because there are quite a few of them. I use these colors in my home and I can tell you they look just as nice as Fixer upper homes! At the beginning of the Fixer Upper show, Joanna was very fond of dusty blues and greens. A very light, airy, cottage-style color that I like! So here’s the Fixer Upper house color scheme based on Joanna’s favorites!

Let’s start with the trim color. The easiest way to make your home look cohesive is to stick to a color scheme. Joanna usually uses Sherwin Williams Alabaster for her trim, and sometimes Sherwin Williams Pure White. Use one color to break up your entire home and you’ll have a home that flows from room to room.

Every home needs a neutral wall color. Joanna likes to use gray in the main living area of her home. Some of her favorites are Sherwin Williams Mindful Grey, Oyster Pearl and Passive Grey. Repose Gray is a shade lighter than Mindful and more open to living. My friend chose this color for her open plan living and dining room and she loves it! Switch to some nice bold colors. Joana says she really likes the airy blue and green. I can say without a doubt that Sherwin Williams Sea Salt is one of the most beautiful paint colors I have ever used. It’s no wonder why the color is so popular with Joanna and other designers. It’s the perfect blue green and looks great in any room. I use it in my bathroom and laundry room to decorate!
Sherwin Williams Comfort Gray is not too gray in my opinion. Another dusty blue green. And I love you! Joana uses this color in living rooms and bedrooms that need a little pop, but this color never fails! Perfect for guest room or office.
The master bedroom is the perfect place for Sherwin Williams Intellectual Gray. This color has a nice warmth, especially against the wooden floor. Joanna used this color in her master bedroom and I can’t get enough! Be careful though, if your room doesn’t have a lot of natural light, this color might be wrong.

For those new to the weekly design challenges: As part of my weekly blog posts, I decided to present a series of design challenges that my followers, clients and friends have requested. .circle . We will post mockup or real life photos with the product listing and give you design tips on how to achieve the look.
This week’s challenge is how to get into Fixer Upper style. I recently had a friend say to me, “I love the way Joanna Gaines dresses on her show Fixer Upper, but I don’t even know where to start to achieve her look.”
It cannot be denied that Joana has her own style. When I think of Fixer Upper style, I’m automatically drawn to farmhouse, French, industrial, and cottage design styles. Jo has that unique way of using simple and fresh design patterns to create a timeless look. He has a unique talent to turn an old object into a new and amazing decor.
Black } Is The New Black: Our Favorite Black Paint Colors
1. Start with a neutral palette of lighter paint colors. In almost every renovation above, Joanna uses neutral paint colors and brings in bright colors with a pop here and there. It gives a nice, simple, fresh and clean look to your design. Here are some paint colors that are perfect for the Fixer Upper style.
2. Mix your products and styles. Joanna uses a variety of mediums and materials – wood, metal, leather, fabric, etc. Wood floors have always been a theme in Fixer Upper Home design. Wood materials help your space feel warm and inviting. But don’t stop there….Layer up with high-texture carpets like jute. You can also bring heat to the wood with a piece of wood. The pictures below are a good example of how Jo combines different materials.
3. Use an unexpected architectural element as a decorative element. Whether it’s large windows behind your bed or old windows over the fireplace. This is my favorite aspect of Jo’s designs. I love seeing how he uses various architectural and industrial elements effortlessly in his designs. Such items can be found at fairs and antique shops. You won’t find these unique pieces at your typical home decor store. Finding the treasure is half the fun.
4. Use green. Nothing says fresh and clean like a vase of flowers or some greenery. These are not necessarily living plants. Hobby Lobby has a great selection of vegetables perfect for Fixer Upper style.

5. Try and find new devices you already have. All of Jo’s designs look simple and fresh. He does not make a fuss and does not decorate – and almost all things have a useful purpose. Sometimes less is more.
Fixer Upper style isn’t something you can achieve overnight. Even though Jo is like that on the show. But hours of planning were spent before he could make “design day.” This process takes time and changes over time. Like what happened to Joanna Gaines. If you look back at some of his early design shows, you can see how far he has come as a designer. But starting with these 5 basic steps will get you on the right track to your fixer upper! When it comes to the best paint color for your home, who knows better than a design guru and
Starring Joanna Gaines? With the launch of Kilz’s new paint line earlier this year, Joanna shared a paint palette for every room, including kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and living rooms.
To create the ultimate place to kick back and catch some Zzz’s, Joanna recommends a rich yet relaxing shade of blue for bedroom walls. “The bedroom is a great place to take a risk and use a little color,” says Joanna Gaines. “I want to see the customer using ‘Weekend’ in their bedroom. Like the weekend, this color makes me feel relaxed.”

If the weekend is your happy time, then you’ll love seeing this color pop up in your home. It was a close match with Weekend at Magnolia.
Like a real bathroom, the bathroom can feel like a relaxing and calming place with shades of gray on the walls. “In the bathroom, I love the idea of using something fresh and clean, like one of my favorite greys, ‘Band Aros,’” says Joanna.
“In high-traffic areas like kitchens and living rooms—and just about anywhere else—I like to keep things simple and use a solid white, like Shiplap.”
Said the star. Go one step further and install a new white cage. “[These colors] create a bright, clean space and offer a variety of decorating options,” says Joanna.
