“Linda and I built a house in Florida in 2002 and we sold our home in the Catskills, New York. In 2012, we decided to take another Catskills vacation and realized that although we loved Florida but we still miss when we started looking at the Blue Ridge Mountains in NC (similar to the Catskills) we found a beautiful mountain range in western NC. Since I don’t know much about log cabins I asked the council Log Homes. Our mailboxes started getting information from many log home companies. Then we got excited and decided to build a vacation tree house on the hills. We found a home builder, Steve Wallin of Asheville Custom Homes and we looked at a lot Log home companies, including Honest Abe Log Homes, we contacted Darlene based on Steve’s recommendation and the package we received from our Realtor Honest Abe, Darlene Dawson of Bear’s Den Log Homes. From the beginning, we were interested in Darlene and Steve felt comfortable talking on the phone. We met with Steve and Darlene and another builder when we visited the mountain community called Grandview Peaks and decided to buy a lot. After meeting and seeing My wife Linda and I were very pleased with Darlene and Steve after their work and signed the contract the next day.
