Paint Color For Bathroom With Almond Fixtures – Almond bathroom designs may be out of style, but sometimes you just have to work with what you’ve got! I will show you how I plan to make myself fresh and modern! Our basement bathroom is a complete eye-catcher with its cobalt blue and black tiles and Acacia fixtures. This is the largest bathroom in the house, but it is not used much. We just used it for the whirlpool tub after a long day of skiing! But I plan to change everything! After breaking the dirty tile, I work with almond paste, replace them. It saves me a ton of money and time and keeps completely usable items out of landfills. I’m looking forward to creating a relaxing, spa-like retreat that turns our basement bathroom into a highlight of the house! Before Basement Bathroom Remodeling You know your bathroom is messy when you build a barn door to hide it from view! The bathroom is off the family room, so we closed the barn door and forgot about it. The blue tile emphasizes the texture of the almonds and separates them. I plan to use mosaic tiles in different shades of tan, brown and beige instead of adding designs. The key to decorating with almond paste is to never use white! White almonds can make the texture wet and old. As much as I hate almond toilets, white toilets mixed with almond bathrooms look even worse! Keeping an acacia bathtub would cost more than replacing a whirlpool tub, and I’m almost positive the room was designed around it. It would be a dream to get out of there, so I could work with it! The glass block window will remain, but I plan to stain the trim to match the vanity (more on that in a minute). You can start by looking at the potential of space with sunlight. Restoring the vanity Another part of the bathroom has its own set of problems. The vanity was custom-made for the space with an oddly angled wall on one side. The pinkish brown doors have to go! I replaced the vanity doors with the same ones I made for my kitchen, dark chocolate brown, to match the barn door. There are mirrors on three walls, creating a fun home effect. No one needs to see themselves from every angle when getting out of the tub! The side mirrors are removed and I frame the mirrors to pop. The shelf on the left holds the beautiful toiletries and we finally have a place to hang hand towels on the right. Black tile countertop with hexagonal sink. We have four different sized sinks in our house. , , a hexagon, a rectangle, an oval and a crazy triangle sink. I found a rectangular almond sink that would fit inside the existing hole (after trimming the hexagonal sides of course), so that I could keep the plywood underneath intact. The countertop will be updated with limestone tile that matches the lighter tone of the mosaic tile I’m using for the rest of the bath. During the almond bathroom inspiration planning process, I was second-guessing the colors of the sink and toilet. I knew about staying in the tube, but would it be too bad to change everything? It really helps to look at pictures of places that work with almond bathrooms instead of replacing them. If my room was a little better than theirs, I would be very happy! One Room Challenge I’m really looking forward to tackling this bathroom remodel as part of the One Room Challenge. I need a cut in pants to finish this project! It always bothers me that we have this big bathtub that we never use. By giving the space a spa-like feel, I think it will be a more relaxing place at home! The One Room Challenge is only six weeks, which isn’t enough time to renovate a bathroom when you’re doing it all yourself! I finished the demolition before the challenge started, so I had a good chance of finishing in time. This is going to sound like a mess, but I can already start imagining the new place! Repair floor and wall damage Install shelves in front of the sink Install new backerboard for the vanity and cut holes for the sink Stain the sink and faucet frames Mirror install new vanity doors and drawer fronts Install tube tile Install a tub tile hand shower on the walls.
