Paint Colors Joanna Gaines Uses – When you’re trying to redecorate your home but can’t figure out which colors go well, it can be a bit frustrating. Especially if you just bought a house and every room is 1980s. flower wallpaper like mine! It can also be difficult to go back and forth from the paint store with color samples. I feel like I had every paint sample I knew at one point when I was trying to pick paint colors. What I ended up doing is browsing Pinterest, finding inspirational rooms and trying to find paint that would look like this. Of course, every paint color will look different in your room, but I guess it’s a lot easier to visualize a color when you can actually see it on someone else’s walls? And since I’m the biggest Fixer Upper fan, I decided to create a few color schemes for the whole house inspired by Joanna Gaines herself. So we’re going to talk about Joan’s favorite paint colors and how to combine colors to create an open, inviting, and flowing home.
So first let’s talk about Joanna’s old favorites. I want to share them first because they are mine too. I use these colors in my house and I can say that they are as beautiful as the Fixer Upper house! Joanna was really drawn to dusty blues and greens in the early days of the Fixer Upper Show. Very light, airy, cottage-like colors that I love! So here’s a Fixer Upper color scheme for the whole house based on Joanna’s favorites!

Let’s start with the color of the finish. The easiest way to make your home more harmonious is to choose one finishing color. Joanna often uses Sherwin Williams Alabaster and sometimes Sherwin Williams Pure White for her finishes. Use one color to decorate your home and have a home where the rooms flow from one to the other.
Magnolia Home: Bold Kitchen Colors
Every home needs a neutral wall color. Joanna likes to use gray in her home for the main living areas. Some of her favorites include Sherwin Williams Mindful Grey, Oyster Pearl and Passive Grey. Repose Gray is one shade lighter than Mindful and looks great in an open plan living space. A friend of mine just chose this color for her open plan living and dining room and she loves it! Before you paint the wall, get a paint sample first! ๐
Switch to beautiful accent colors. Joanna said she really likes airy blues and greens. I can say without a doubt that Sherwin Williams Sea Salt is one of the most beautiful paint colors I have ever used. It’s no wonder why it’s such a popular color for Joanna and other designers. It is the perfect blue-green color and looks good in any room. I use it in the bathroom and laundry!
Sherwin Williams Comfort Gray is definitely not very gray in my opinion. This is another powder blue green. And I love him! Joanna uses this color in living rooms and bedrooms that need a little bolder color, but this color is never overdone! Perfect for a guest room or office.
The master bedroom is the perfect place for Sherwin Williams Intellectual Gray. This color has a wonderful warmth, especially on a wooden floor. Joana used this color for her master bedroom and I just can’t get enough of it! But be careful, if your bedroom does not have a lot of natural light, this color can be a mistake.

When in doubt, choose a cool shade of green. “I’m really drawn to fresh botanical shades like Magnolia Green right now,” said Joanna. “I’m always drawn to nature when creating your designs and I love bringing it inside.
