Ranch Exterior Remodel Before And After – I usually post about my house, but for a change I want to show you the exterior makeover of the house of Debbie and Martin, who are good friends of Ed and I.
When we lived in PA they were our neighbors for 22 years. They moved from our previous neighborhood to this house a few years before we moved to live in Lake Murray in South Carolina.
Ranch Exterior Remodel Before And After
They were the same age as us and when they became empty nesters who didn’t need a big house, they decided to look for a smaller house and land in a more rural part of town.
Ranch Addition And Remodel
After months of searching, they found a red brick home on 7 acres that was just what they wanted.
They don’t just stop at changing the exterior of the house. It also adds to the spacious and empty yard to make a small garden, complete with a barn and an additional driveway for…
I know you will love to see how they changed the exterior to suit their dream style and outlook on life.
This is what the house looked like before it was changed. The red brick is in very good condition, but not the desired look.

They painted all the bricks white, added a metal roof and overhangs, vertical tile siding, new doors and light fixtures.
This is the back of their 1970’s brick home that became their dream home in just a few years. Red/orange brick, red roof and rust/red shutters.
Debbie and Martin not only painted the house shutters white and black, but added a metal roof and pergola. He had a stone-paved path and created a white-walled garden with beds of cut flowers, herbs and vegetables.
Gardening is one of Debbie’s passions. Her green thumb skills are on display at every turn as there are colorful flowers everywhere.
Incredible Before And After Exterior Home Remodels
After they bought the house, they had the interior changed and renovated before moving in. The exterior of the house was altered over the next few years.
Replace the shingle roof with a metal roof. Metal roofing is by Drexel Metal Roofing Systems in color
Here are the tiles of the metal roof. The color varies depending on the amount of light. On a sunny day it looks more silver, and on a gray day – a darker gray.
You can see the metal roof addition in this photo and the lush landscape after rooting.
Jll Design: Ranch Renovation
Soon after moving in, they designed a coop and a chicken coop and built them both next to the yard so they wouldn’t block the view.
With vintage trucks and tractors out front, giving the property the feeling that the property has always been a farm and barn instead of just a brick farm sitting alone on 7 hectares.
As I said above, the transformation of the exterior of this house was not done all at once, but over several years. They know what they want and take the time to get it right. Welcome to CC and Mike’s Modern Navy and Cedar Ranch Style Remodel Reveal! Wow, that’s a mouthful – ha! :).
When a friend from college called to say she had a ranch-style house in downtown Jenks that she thought we should look at, we got in the truck to go there. When we pulled into the big place with the ranch style on top of it, I knew I wanted it. Mike Miller was quite convincing when he saw the peach walls, the floral wallpaper – covering the ceiling I might add – and the kitchen covered in dark cupboards and ceiling. Yes, and the house is 2 bedroom 1 bath, which Mike thinks will be difficult to resell.

As we walked around the house, my friend explained that the daughter of the original owner sold it after he died. The same people have built and owned this house for over half a century. He raised his family and created thousands of memories on these walls. When we left, we decided to buy and spend more. But, what we didn’t know at the time was that while renovating this house, we would meet Dorothy, our sweet 90-year-old neighbor who became our friend and the original owner, and we would fall in love. . with the history of this house. We love listening to Dorothy reminisce about sitting on the porch drinking coffee and hanging out with friends around the kitchen table. After meeting Dorothy, we really fell in love with this house and neighborhood and developed a sense of pride to be a part of this history…
You see, I realize that every house has a story. And what an honor that would be. part of this history, knowing the memories made on the walls and being able to prepare them for the new family, the sweet newlyweds who ended up buying this house, to create a life full of memories.
Come over! And welcome to CC with Mike Modern Navy and Cedar Ranch Style Remodel.

Millie’s Remodel: A 1950’s Ranch Renovation
If you know what I mean. Don’t get me wrong. I love white. My whole house is painted white brick.
But the beauty of this house is that because of the exterior scale, I feel it can do with something more dramatic and whimsical. I knew I wanted to go with a deep blue color on the outside and match the cedar shutters and accents. I really love how it turned out.
Paint COLOR: Brick is Sherwin Williams Gale Force, Trim and Door are Sherwin Caviar.
HGTV came to this site for a pilot film at the beginning of this project. Mike and I got caught up in the excitement after “demo day” as the film crew pumped us up! Unfortunately they decided to stop filming and I have knocked down the whole wall! I literally sat at home for a year before Mike finally let me do the design. It was a blessing in disguise because otherwise we wouldn’t have broken through the wall. It looks amazing and opens up the whole house. Thank you HGTV!
Brick Ranch Ideas
Here’s a dramatic before and after of how we took this kitchen from a dark, closed kitchen with drop ceilings and dated wallpaper to a stunning open concept kitchen with a large island, open shelving and lots of WOW!
The flip kitchen was the perfect opportunity for me to have fun and do some design work that I know Mike probably wouldn’t choose in our private home – in other words, BLACK CABINETS mixed with warm wood tones. It’s no secret that I love black and white in design and you’ll often hear me say; “You know what never goes out of style? Black and white.

Hardwood floors are provided by Mill Creek Carpet and Tile. They supplied all the flooring and tiles for this project and we enjoyed working with them. They were so helpful throughout the selection process and the customer service throughout the installation was exceptional. If you are local to Tulsa or Oklahoma City I highly recommend Mill Creek and you can even go in and tell them you want to see CC and Mike’s favorites and they have a table of items we use in our house! The floor we chose is the Bella Cera Monza Collection in Bivio French Oak.

If you’re not in Tulsa, you can purchase the flooring I used in the flip house project here:
HOOD: I created this hood look using the same wood flooring we used throughout the house on the hood. We had our carpenter cut Bella Cerra engineered wood floors to fit the size of the vent hood and attached them to the front and sides of the hood. It was actually Mike Miller’s idea and I really like how it turned out!
Now, looking at these pictures, it’s amazing to me that this is the same room! Taking down the brick wall, which was the original outer wall, was not an easy task. Getting Mike Miller to do that was no easy task – ha! But I believe it was the right decision. Especially when you see this before and after the brick wall is completely closed
