He’s becoming a big boy (mom’s in tears) and his room needs to be updated to look a bit more sophisticated. But remember, he was only 6 years old. So I wanted to do three things with this update.

Rust Oleum Chalked 12 Oz. Ultra Matte Spray Paint, Linen White

This is the first. Now remember that this is a non-judgmental blog. I literally took this picture out of nowhere because it was my reality. The bed has never been made.

His collections of “treasures” (e.g., random rocks, two alleged Van Gogh artworks, last year’s birthday balloons, and Chee-a-Cheese paintings) are everywhere.

So I decided to do something! It all started with Goal 2: Shedding light on dark characters.

His furniture is the same set we bought when he was born (can I get a swing for the set?) and it still works great. So I realized that I can paint! For your information – I really hate painting. Likes very much. But it’s an easy and affordable DIY, so I got to work.

I have never tried to check the color. I know I know this has been going on for a while, so of course I don’t have a tutorial for you. They already have a lot and I’m sure mine will have even less.

So instead, I wanted to do a quick review of the brand I used: Rustoleum Chalk Matte Paint in Grey. ,

I wanted a medium gray color, didn’t want to pay a lot of money for it or go “downtown” to find it. Because we live in a small town the number of hardware stores is very limited and there are no big box stores.

As you can see, the wood is engineered cherry wood. I didn’t want to sand it, so paint it with chalk. So with the help of my favorite hobby, I picked up a mattress and set up shop in the garage. On my card table because how do all DIYers do it?

I highly doubt that I would need only one coat to get the required coverage. When it comes to tingiopsis, rare is more.

Above you can see the coverage after one layer. Now there are some projects where one wants to see a distressed look. If this is what I’m looking for, I can stand here and step strategically on the sand to reveal it.

But I think my son will get used to everything of daily use. 🙂 Hence I wanted to make it last a little longer with a second coat.

As you can see, spots appeared after the second coat. But personally I think it is because I am impatient and should have given it another hour to dry. Other than that, I didn’t mind the rubbing, so I went ahead with the coat.

I didn’t know what to do, I really didn’t want to put on two more coats. Reason: Bored but I asked some of my amazing friends on Instagram and they assured me I’d regret it if I didn’t.

So I used Rustoleum Ultra Matte Chalk Top Coat. I added two coats of this for extra durability.

Here’s how I feel about the products I use. (Note: I am not paid to review these. I am not paid and am not affiliated with Rustle in any way. I am sharing my experience with you if you are looking for the cheap chalk paint version.) want to!)

Too!! Here’s a glimpse of my son’s renovated room!! Even though I didn’t paint the walls, I love the style and airiness of it. It was made very bright by removing all the dark colored furniture.

And in my next post, I’ll share the obvious. This also includes how I achieved goals 1 and 3 above on that count. Here’s a little hint, there’s something about this wonderful bed. 😉 When Rustoleum Chalk Paint first came out I was skeptical about it because it claimed that it didn’t require sanding. This colorful product took me by surprise!

I recently bought a 1982 lacquer bedroom furniture set and I thought it would be great to use chalk paint because I can’t make it worse.

He didn’t even need to change gears and covered less than a quarter of the cupboard and trunk.

I’m glad my husband recommended saving stuff, as the machine looked completely different after the chalk paint was applied.

After removing the equipment, remove the drawers from the cabinet and wipe everything with a dry cloth to remove dust.

I used a chalk paint brush to paint on the areas and lines that the high density foam roller could not cover.

After I finished the brush work, I used a high-density foam roller to smooth each drawer and all of the cabinet fronts.

After the first coat had dried for a few hours, I went back and applied a second coat of Rust-Oleum chalk paint to all of the cabinets and drawers.

I only applied 2 coats on the dress and chest to get the look I wanted.

If you want a more rugged look, you should sand the corners and edges of the cabinet a bit.

I decided not to bother with the wardrobe and instead wore a transparent protective coat in a satin box.

I liked this Rust-Oleum spray paint because it was very easy to apply and had a nice matte finish.

Chalk spray paint was the perfect choice for this project because there were so many little details in this accent table.

I threw away my accent table that I wanted to paint because it was old and a bit tacky.

If you are satisfied with the appearance of your product, there is no need to sand before spraying.

Then I sanded the accent table before spraying the first coat of Rust-Oleum spray paint.

I had to place the accent table in a well ventilated area and protect it with a drop cloth around it.

I spread the color evenly from left to right and not too thick. You don’t want to spray the paint too hard because the paint will start to drip.

I applied a total of 2 coats of Rustol chalk paint and did not use top coat.

I love the matte finish of this table and am not worried about it getting cut. If you’re looking for a natural paint project, you might like these 15 easy ideas.

If you’ve blogged for a while, you probably know that one of my favorite projects is painting vintage furniture. My product is basically chalk paint. I love using it and it has always worked well for me. But the other day as I was browsing Home Depot, I came across a spot of spray paint. Yes, chalk paint in a can. Have you guys heard this before?! I think it’s actually been out there for a while, so the back is curved, but holy cow, painting it in a vase! Of course I had to try it out and see how it compared to regular chalk paint. So today I tried it out on a small side table and do a full review of this chalk spray paint.

One of the things I love about natural paint is that you don’t have to sand the furniture before starting your painting project. You also don’t need hangers, which makes the painting process easier. So when I bought the chalk spray paint, I wanted to see if it would allow me to go through the same steps and still get great results. I found an old side table that I neither sanded nor cleaned, and this was done with the help of Rust-Oleum chalk spray paint.
