Hello! Thank you very much for this message. I am building a new house, with a “modern farmhouse” theme. In the kitchen, the cabinets are white and the island is stained. Do you think alabaster would be a good color for white cabinets? If so, what color would you paint the walls around the cabinets? The kitchen is in an open relationship with the living room, so it has to be a color that I can paint the whole open space (kitchen and living room). I like the “warm” shades of alabaster, but I don’t want them to look yellow. Should I stick with “pure white” cabinet paint? But you don’t want the cabinets to be too white, which takes away from the farmhouse feel. I’m actually wondering what colors to paint the cabinets and kitchen/living room! Hello Eva! Sounds like your kitchen and living room will be really nice! Alabaster is a beautiful white color. I have used it on walls and cabinets in many homes and it has no yellow on it. As for the walls for this open space, if you want a grayer color, look for cozy grays and calm grays. If you want a warmer color, look at the available beige. Hope this helps, and good luck!

Good questions! All the white you mentioned will look good on your island. Pure white and snowy whiter than alabaster. But honestly, most people wouldn’t notice the difference. Alabaster is a warmer white while Pure White and Snowbound are cooler. If I wanted white/white, I’d go for pure white. If I wanted a warmer white, I’d go for Alabaster. Hope this helps! Good luck! Hello! We are building a new build and I am thinking of Highly Reflective White for the walls and kitchen cabinets. Is it too much? I love white quartz with a hint of gray. We will have an island. I can make the island the same white, wood instead of color or gray. Maybe looking at Morning Fog SW 6255 or Krypton SW 6247. Which do you think would look better? Our last home was oak cabinets with sage walls and I’m just ready for a change.
Your new kitchen sounds very nice. I have no personal experience with Highly Reflective White, but I can honestly say that many people have used it and love it. One of my favorite whites is Alabaster because it seems softer. Look at the Alabaster and High Reflective White color chips side by side and you’ll see the difference.
