Guys, I have painted many kitchen cabinets over the past few years and have used just about any color under the sun. Everything from accessible beiges to creams and even oversized navy!
But I have to say that Sherwin Williams Alabaster (SW 7008) has to be the most sought after color for kitchen cabinets. And it’s easy to see why! It is a really good choice when you are looking for a clean, good white, not too low and not too hot.

Alabaster has an LRV (light reflectance value) of 82, which means it reflects light easily and makes your kitchen look bright. While many people suspect that alabaster has a yellow grain, it really depends on the lighting. However, it never looks yellow to me, instead leaning more white towards a soft creamy beige.
Both honest! This is why many people like it. Perfect color balance with clear tones and just the right amount of brightness.
For my clients, I often pair alabaster with a variety of colors. For example, if the kitchen cabinets have SW Alabaster, I would paint them something close to Almond White or even SW White Brass (SW 60011) such as Sherwin Williams Semi-Transparent Ecru (SW 70022).
I also found that Sherwin Williams Mindful Gray pairs very well with alabaster and gives it a nice clean look when used in the kitchen.
