Sherwin Williams Gender Neutral Nursery Colors – Children’s rooms are one of my favorite rooms to design (hence my focus on children’s interiors) and colors are usually one of the first things I decide on. My designs always incorporate classic elements with a modern edge, so they are always in style but in line with today’s trends. So the following colors follow the same logic. These are classic colors that will be able to grow with your child and their room as their style changes. And they’re all gender neutral, so bonus! (You know I love a little pink, so if you want tips on the perfect girly shade, check out this post).
The perfect balance of clean, fresh and warm. It’s not too bright, but it’s not pale either. Just like a breath of fresh air. This is one of my favorite colors and I use it all the time.

Yellow oak is 2 steps above white. It’s such a classic color and offers a light cozy feel, think of a light blanket on a cool summer night. It’s all in the name, Classic. If you want gray for your nursery, you can’t go wrong with this shade. It complements many colors and fits perfectly with boys or girls.

This color is a blue-grey that relaxes and simply surrounds the space, in the best way. It’s subtle, feels right at home and can be dressed up or down. Use it on any wall or as an accent and pair it with soft colors and textures and you won’t go wrong.
Tips For Styling A Bright And Neutral Nursery
It’s one of my favorite colors and can be used in a boy or girl nursery – just ask my daughter. The color is a true dark blue, deep and saturated, but with a hint of shimmer. I’m usually very good at choosing colors and rarely weigh my decisions – except in my daughter’s nursery. I tried about 15 color swatches (no lie), all light and airy, and nothing felt right. Then I told that I found this color, took a sample from home, showed it to my husband and he thought I was really crazy. But it turned out amazing and 4 years later I still love the color. And most importantly, my little girl loves it too.
At first you might think that this color is more suitable for a little boy. But I promise you, if you add white, gold and coral, this color can totally work for a girl too! This gray has great depth and is a beautiful charcoal gray.
It is a popular color for BM. And with good reason. It’s light and airy, but will add a lot of interest and color to your space. It’s almost like she’s always been the best supporting actress – when you walk into a room, you look at the design of the space and how you feel, and then you realize that the color of the wall is very important.
This color takes healing aloe and adds a little kick to it. It’s the perfect shade of mint and goes well with feminine and masculine color combinations (eg pink or navy blue). It’s so… sweet.
Gender Neutral Nursery)
I came up with this color while working on a gender neutral nursery for an amazing client (see it here) and the only requirement was an accent wall, but nothing too dark (-below was a promotional photo of it). I found this color and immediately realized it was the perfect shade of green – calm, chic and neutral. After seeing it on the wall, it became one of my favorite colors. It’s also worth noting that we created an ombre wall effect by painting each wall a different color leading up to the Riverway – other (equally beautiful) colors are Skyhouse HGSW3297 and Rice Terrace HGSW3296. Baby & Toddler Room Paint Color Ideas

It’s less about what colors to avoid from a design perspective and more about what colors to avoid from a color psychology perspective.
It has been proven time and time again that colors affect your emotions in a special way.
For example, research shows that people who are exposed to cool colors like blue for a long time feel calmer and more relaxed. At the same time, people exposed to warm colors like red or yellow become more alert and sensitive.
Classic But Modern Gender Neutral Nursery Colors
If you want to use yellow, that’s a good color to use, especially if you want something more gender neutral.
However, according to a color psychologist, the brighter the yellow, the more confusing it is. Additionally, research studies show that yellow causes babies to cry more than any other color.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t think babies need any more reasons to cry. I will do what I have to give them a soothing effect in my child’s room!
