Natural light plays an important role in the appearance of the color, the brightness, the size of the room and the furniture in the room.
I spent hours researching Sherwin-Williams’ most popular gray colors and narrowed it down to my ten favorites. Below I share information about each paint color, swatches of each paint color, and the colors in the rooms and some of the cabinets.

Kitchen Trends We’re Loving In 2020
This article provides RGB and LRV values for each paint color. RGB shows the amount of red, green, and blue in each color. On the LRV scale, O absorbs all light (black) and 100 reflects all light (white).

SW Agreeable Gray is a very popular color and is a warm shade of light gray. If you are choosing between this color and Repose Grey, Agreeable Gray is the warmer color between the two.
SW Repose Gray is another popular color option in the gray category, but it’s a bit cooler than Agreeable Grey. It was a selection for the Pottery Barn Kids Fall/Winter 2019 collection.
Painted Cabinets In Repose Gray And Gauntlet Gray
This color is a cool mid-tone gray with a slight blue undertone. SW Light French Gray is part of the historic color collection and is a good neutral choice for interiors and exteriors.
SW Mindful Gray is a shade darker than Repose Gray and a shade lighter than Dorian Gray. It’s on the lighter side of medium gray and looks great against white trim and white furniture. This gray has more red than green and blue, but is generally neutral.
SW Amazing Gray is a warm grey, a shade darker than Worldly Grey. This color looks good against the white trim and is a good choice for both interior and exterior.
SW Dorian Gray is a medium gray shade, one shade darker than Mindful Grey. Its gray tone is a popular color choice for cabinets and doors. It is part of PBteen’s Fall/Winter 2019 collection
Sherwin Williams Lazy Gray (#sw 6254): Ultimate Review + Pictures
SW Worldly Gray is a light warm grey, a shade lighter than Amazing Grey. It’s similar to Agreeable Gray with a little more green.
SW Anew Gray is a shade darker than Agreeable Gray and is between beige and gray (basically a warm gray). This color provides a nice contrast to the white trim and is a good choice for wardrobes.
SW Comfort Gray is a shade darker than sea salt in the green family. I chose this color for its blue-green vibe, which is perfect for coastal decor.
SW Online is a nice neutral color. This color can be blue in certain lighting and works well with cool or warm furniture.

Many of you may remember what our kitchen looked like. I know that in this professional photo E.S. In the photo above, the cabinets look light and cream, but they are actually gold and their finish is very old. I made a fake 9-10 years ago, and probably after 9-10 years, most things need a “remake” if they want to be “modern”. The wardrobes, so to speak, tormented me.
So we decided to repaint and I knew I wanted gray cabinets. We recently painted all the walls in Sherwin Williams Ellie Gray (gray with some blue undertones), so the sheep color should look good. I knew that I was also attracted to richer, stronger colors… so a
Sherwin Williams Repose Gray: Photos, Videos, And Secret Tip (2021)
Gray wasn’t really in my DNA. We decided to spend about a week looking at samples of Sherwin Williams’ Cityscape (see above). And then I had to pull the trigger on this color for my gray cabinets. I was nervous, but you get to a point where you think ANYTHING will look better than what you have now. And I was at that moment.
And then we lived like that for a week. Let me tell you, if you really need/want to clean your cabinets… repaint your cabinets. Basically, you are shamed for cleaning and cleaning 5 year old dry PB&J from the cupboards. It’s really sad how sticky you feel without closet doors. lol Everyone should go through this at least once!
The girls at The Magic Brush painted all my gray cabinets for me. THEY ARE THE BEST. When they started painting… I was just a little scared. “Oh my god, what have I done” and “this is the best color in the history of colors”. Sometimes when you try a color you’ve never used before (and I’ve never used it before), you can’t tell until the project is finished.
For the project, we used our dryer sheet from Marty Carroll of The Bayou Bungalow (if you paint cabinets for a living, this stuff is a lifesaver). The more doors I made, the more I liked the color and I was confident in my decision!
Most Popular Kitchen Cabinet Colors In 2022
After the kitchen was installed, I pulled out the handles and pulls. I knew I wanted pens. But I also wanted bling. I also wanted the panty door to be bigger, so I put them all lllllllll together in the room and they were very stinky happy. Yes, your outfits look weird and yes, I combine them too much. But I love the new kitchen knobs and handles! They all came from Hobby Lobby. I had to paint some of them. He managed the cabinet. I’ve licked my finger and it’s definitely cooler. Funnily enough, the local Fox 4 station aired a portion of this video the morning before the segment aired. Eeeesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss My workout clothes lick things around the town. lol just #keepinitreal.
So, shortly after painting the gray cabinets, I had to ditch the big old bar stools for the new Shorterons at TJ Maxx. And I had to paint the tiles. I couldn’t stand the gold and copper tile with the gray cabinets. Then the tiles and banks will change, and for now we wait for the money tree to bloom….
