Sherwin Williams Light Gray Paint Colors – We looked for the best light gray shades for the house we were renovating. We love the light gray contrasting with the white brick and painted walls. There’s something about the subtle contrast that feels so crisp and clear. We ended up choosing Farrow and Ball Cornforth White, but I have to say it was a tough choice. There are so many beautiful colors of light gray! Of all the things we found in our search, here are our favorites.
Farrow and Ball Cornforth White is probably my favorite light grey! We chose this beautiful light gray color for our reversible blinds. It comes in just enough gray to create a subtle contrast with the Benjamin Moore White Dove color we chose for the brick and siding.

Repose Gray is a warm, neutral gray with a subdued undertone. Many say it is “the perfect grey”. It looks great on white walls and would be the ideal gray if you’re looking for something versatile and something that goes with just about anything. Repose Gray is definitely something we considered for our reversible blinds, but we wanted a little lighter weight.
Sherwin Williams Modern Gray is a warm gray that leans more towards dark brown. Personally, I prefer this color in interiors, such as wall painting or kitchen cabinets. Sometimes it can have a pink tint, but it depends on the light. Modern gray is a beautiful color to pair with light wood tones and bronze or black accents.
Agreeable Gray is the color that I see many people say is the most beautiful gray. This means that it has a light gray color with some beige undertones. Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray is probably one of the most popular colors for neutral interior colors besides white. This color is on the warmer side of the spectrum and is a neutral color that goes well with just about anything.
Classic gray is another popular light gray used by many both inside and outside the home. In fact, it is almost white, sometimes it can be colored depending on the environment. I love this color for its subtlety and versatility.

Our latest favorite light gray is Sherwin Williams Worldly Grey. This color is warm and subdued and, again, provides a subtle contrast to white walls or decorations. It’s the perfect color to use outside, on interior walls or even in closets. World Gray is slightly darker than one of the previous colors, Pleasant Grey. . These cool tones are more likely to appear in north-facing rooms or in hallways and other areas that don’t have a lot of natural light.
So if your room has a northern exposure, Repose Gray will be slightly bluer with just a hint of purple/violet in the dark. But in a room facing south or west, it will look much brighter, with no noticeable undertones (in Kasia’s beautiful room above, for example). Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray (sw 7029): Paint Color Review
In a nutshell, it’s a number related to how much light the paint color will reflect into the room.
The LRV is based on a scale of 0 to 100, where 0 is the blackest black and 100 corresponds to the brightest white (although there are no colors in the world of painting).
For reference, Tricorn Black is LRV 3 and High Reflective White is LRV 93.
Therefore, Repose Gray with LRV 58 is considered a light reflective gray under certain circumstances.

Mindful Gray Sw 7016
It is important to note that paint colors will generally always be lighter when used outdoors. This is due to the amount of natural light reflecting off the surface.
Therefore, as the Repose Gray SW 7015 has an LRV of 58, it will appear even brighter when used outdoors.
But personally I like the light gray used outside. Whether used as house paint, fence paint, gray floor paint, they all look great to me! I also love warm grays in a modern farmhouse, beach house or even more traditional or modern homes.
