Stone fireplaces tend to have a purple hue, tending to cool colors. However, because of the brown color, the walls will feel warm if there is not much sunlight in a room with a south facing window.

The LRV (Reflectance) scale of paint colors ranges from 1 to 100.

The closer the color is to 0, the closer it is to black. That means they reflect little or no light.

The closer the color is to 100, the closer to white and the brighter the light.

Behr has some great options for stone fireplaces. Try Behr Creamy Mushroom.

Some people think of mushroom paint colors as just a trend that won’t last, but I say this: If you want to work from home, you can.
