So one of the main issues is the color palette. I was inspired by Hambledon’s favorite honeycomb paper balloon (which I wrote about in another post) and knew that a modern color combination would be perfect for our daughter.
I recently discovered Valspar, a new paint mixing system available at B&Q. At the time of writing, Valspar is sold in the largest B&Q stores and is readily available in small and medium-sized stores.
My first impression was very good. With over 2,000 colored cards or chips available from the viewing area, this place is bright, inviting and truly inviting. White will appear in the right color field, so you can choose a nice color combination. The light bar shows how colors appear under daylight, energy-efficient lighting, and fluorescent lighting.
What’s really interesting is how Valspar allows you to mix more than 2.2 million colors. Yes that’s right. Their system can scan the color of a book, pillow, some wallpaper or fabric, and then the software will regenerate that color and tell you how accurate it is. And it’s very accurate! There is no other color scheme like this in the UK.

During the hours I spent at the Valspar counter, I saw several customers discussing their paint needs with the Valspar team. Customer service is at the core of the Valspar experience. Every customer needs to understand their paint. They should be able to choose the right paint for their project and be completely satisfied with their purchase and enjoy the product. It’s very important to Valpara that they sell the right products and the customers come back for their next project.
This paint is beautiful. It has a low odor, is easy to apply and provides coverage. I’ve used many variations of paint over the years, some better than others, but this really is one of the best I’ve tried. It sticks to the wall very easily and to be honest we could have used just one coat, but we definitely used two to follow the recommendations.
This is just an introduction to the transformation, but I wanted to show how color looks on the wall. We proceeded to build a wall of walls at Karang Terang, followed by 3 pink and white walls at the Freshwater Pearl. Several pieces of furniture and accessories, including mint wood and iron mirrors, were used, the wood being a crisp white. It’s hard to convey color through images, but hopefully you’ll get a good idea of the palette.

Mike Rampton, 38, tweeted that the B&Q sample rack is perfect for anyone looking for a cheeky “rectal nickname,” and another user added examples like “bachelor button” and “ripe peach” as a surprise.
His tweet has been liked more than 20,000 times, with users suggesting that Valspar’s creative department may be trying to insert a password into their project without the customer realizing it.
Mike found his “ridiculous” discoveries, including A Place of Peace and Eye of Horus, hilarious, but his partner Kirsten Rampton, 37, was horrified.
Others on the Valspar website include ‘Porthole View’ (blue), ‘Cool Box’ (light blue), ‘Far and Wide’ (turquoise) and ‘Oh La La’ (pink).
