Wall Colors For Grey Floors – Whether you love your gray hardwood floors or want them gone, I’m sharing two of the best ways to decorate around them. The trick is to add some heat, and I can show you how.

My client Deborah and her family moved and happily all the timeless furniture we chose for her great room makeover in her last home fit perfectly in the new one.

He liked the layout of his new home. However, he didn’t like the gray hardwood floors and paint colors he inherited. Deborah decided not to install new floors because she didn’t think they would be in the house long enough to recoup the money.

But, after living with this finish during the pandemic, he asked me to come and specify a new paint colour. We also choose other accessories to complete the rooms. Finally, every new home has custom spaces that must be considered.

I always put a white chalkboard behind the color I’m testing, as you can see below when I chose an island color, but in this case we didn’t get an impression of the gray behind it. Also, I often like to balance the table on top of the crown molding because it also gives a nice look.

But in general, you always want to create a clean background behind the paint colors you’re testing so you don’t start making decisions and comparing them to the old paint color.

Furniture Colors That Go With Gray Flooring

After the new paint color went in, Deborah said she felt like the sun was shining every time she walked into the house.

Note that if the walls were the same white as the trim, it would still feel cold. Especially since there is no white color in the decoration.

Natural jute rugs are the easiest way to add a lot of warmth to your room, especially if you decorate with a lot of gray finishes.

At first, Deborah tried to use this rug, but it didn’t do anything for her. The colors were great, but it looked like an island. They did not connect the floors to the rest of the space.

And when it came time to choose a new paint color, he suggested I order an even bigger color to go under the dining room table. This adds continuity and brings much needed warmth to the whole area.

The gray kitchen island needed some navy to bring out the flow of the room, so I turned one of my large color swatches over to the white side and put in all my dark blues just to pick the right ones ( below):

I also suggested adding some molding to make it look like a piece of furniture. It’s a simple detail that makes a big impact.

This home does not have a formal living room which leaves room for this layout, which is perfect for entertaining.
