Joanna Gaines said, “The bedroom is a great place to take a risk and use less color.” “I want to see a customer use ‘weekend’ in their bedroom. Like the weekend, this color relaxes me.”

Like a real spa, the bathroom can feel like a haven for relaxation and pampering with a calm and beautiful shade of gray on the walls. “In the bathroom, I like the idea of using something fresh and clean, like one of my favorite grays, ‘Wedding Band,’” Joanna said.
“In tight spaces like the kitchen and living room—and just about any space—I like to keep things simple and use a creamy, neutral white like ‘ShipPep.’
The star said. Take it a step further and pair it with crisp white trim. “[This color] creates a bright, clean space and provides a versatile background for the interior,” says Joanna.

Joanna’s favorite color to decorate with is “True White”. Paired with neutrals, light or dark – it goes well with everything.
If in doubt, choose a fresh shade of green. “Right now, I’m into fresh botanical colors like ‘Magnolia Green,’” says Joanna. I think it would be an interesting choice for kitchen cabinets or anywhere you need a touch of nature.

So first let’s talk about an old favorite of Joanna’s. I want to share these first because they are mine too. I have used these colors in my own home and I can tell you they are just as beautiful as the Fixer Upper home! At the beginning of the show Fixer Upper, Joanna really gravitated to dusty blues and greens. Really bright, airy, short color that I love! So this is the color scheme of the entire Fixer Upper house based on Joanna’s favorite throwback!

Let’s start with the cut color. The easiest way to make your home more uniform is to use one decorative color. Joanna often uses Sherwin Williams Alabaster and sometimes Sherwin Williams Pure White for the finish. Use one color for decoration throughout your home and you will have a home where the rooms simply flow from one another.
Every home needs a neutral wall color. Joanna loves using gray in the main living area of her home. Some of her favorites include Sherwin Williams Mindful Gray, Oyster Pearl and Passive Gray. Repose gray is a lighter shade than Mindful and would look great in an open living room. My friend chose this color for her open plan living room and loves it! Let’s move on to a nice accent color. Joanna has said she prefers airy blues and greens. I can say without a doubt that Sherwin Williams Sea Salt is one of the most beautiful shades I have used. No wonder why it is such a popular color with Joanna and other designers. It’s the perfect teal and looks great in any room. I used it in the bathroom and laundry room!
I don’t think Sherwin Williams Comfort Gray is gray at all. This is another dusty teal. And I love it! Joanna uses this color in the living room and bedroom where bolder colors are needed, but this color is never dominant! Perfect for a guest room or office.

The master bedroom is the perfect place for Sherwin Williams’ Smart Grey. This color has a nice warmth, especially against the wooden floor. Joanna used this color in her bedroom and I can’t get enough! But be careful, if your bedroom does not have natural light, this color can be a mistake.

It cannot be denied that Joanna has her own style. When I think of “Fixer Upper” style, I automatically picture elements of farmhouse, French, industrial, and cottage design. Joe has a special way of using simple and fresh design features to create a timeless look. She has a special gift for transforming the old into new and beautiful decorations.
1. Start with a neutral palette and a few subtle lighter shades. Almost every one of Joanna’s tie-downs, she uses neutral paint colors and brings in bright colors and pops here and there. This gives a nice simple, fresh and clean table to your design. Here are some paint colors that go with the “Fixer Upper” look.
2. Mix ingredients and textures. Joanna uses a variety of mediums and materials – wood, metal, leather, fabric, etc. Parquet floors are almost always a feature of Fixer Upper home design. Wood elements make your space warm and inviting. But it doesn’t stop there… The jute-like layered textured carpet. The warmth of wood can also be brought out with wood furniture. I love to see how easily he uses different pieces of architecture and industry in his designs. Such things can be found in old festivals and shops. You won’t find these unique pieces at your typical home decor store. Finding valuables is half the fun.

4. Use greenery. Nothing says fresh and clean like a bouquet of flowers or greenery. This is not necessarily a living plant. Hobby Lobby has a great selection of faux greenery that matches the “Fixer Upper” look.
5. Discover and find new uses for existing things. All of Jo’s designs look effortlessly simple and fresh. He doesn’t clutter or decorate too much – and almost all objects have a useful purpose. sometimes more or less.
